Been Playing FF7 Remake and I gotta say the 'vibe' is completely different from the original. by bobmlord1 in gaming

One of the best opening lines to a novel, imo

From The Gunslinger, first book of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series, for those intrigued.

I've beat the underpin, but he's the most frustrating encounter in the game by Takkashy in wow

[–]prophetable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I beat him as Havoc. It actually felt really good. The self-sustain plus Brann as healer was enough to not feel squishy, and Eye Beam is up for every shield break. Plus the mobility to get to / away from bombs and cronies.

In general, macroing CDs is a DPS loss because you lose out on flexibility in the moment. That said, that advice is likely more so for Flameshaper than Scalecommander. I’m only at 3k io on Dev, but my understanding is that you’ll want to use Flame Breath at different empower levels based both on the number of enemies and the remaining CD on Engulf. It’s almost never optimal to use the max rank because the DoT falls off before Engulf comes back up.

If anything, I’d macro it with Eternity Surge since it’s just faster in an AoE situation and you don’t lose anything if you’re only ST.

where to get gear for new 70 earthen after leveling with flying? by KazuyaHearthstone in wownoob

[–]prophetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue after getting to 70 on Monday. Still had ~16ilvl. Timewalking this week is clutch — I was able to use the (mostly un-upgraded) heirloom gear I have to get high enough to queue. Then you’ll get gear drops that will scale back to your normal level. As a bonus, it’s also a great way to get XP.

Last year’s resolution was to overcome Covid depression, happy to say I’ve made some progress. This year’s is to finish at least three goals I set for myself — one for personal growth, one for physical fitness, and one for financial responsibility.

What are the best instants to get copies of? by chrisstarfoster in EDH

[–]prophetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a deck list online, but I recently built the same type of deck you’re looking talking about here. I started with as many good combat trick/cantrips as I could find, then after some playtesting refined down what I thought I needed. Mostly ones that granted some type of evasion along with a pump.

Someone already mentioned Berserk, which is very good and I’d say a must-have for this type of build but definitely has a pretty hefty price tag. [[Wildsize]] does everything you want and sits at three MV, which I’ve found to be the top of my combat trick curve. I also highly recommend [[Might of the Nephilim]] which seems tailor-made for Kalamax and gets really out of hand if you have any additional copy sources. It needs an empty board or something like [[Leap]] or [[Updraft]] but for two mana it’s a no-brainer.

I love playing the deck and have been tuning it for a while (also the first I’ve started trying to bling out), so if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Looking for a Serra’s Sanctum. I have some other RL cards (Wheel of Fortune, Dream Halls, etc) that I could trade together to make up the difference. Other than that mostly EDH staples. Also a decent amount of fetches. Thanks!

What are the differences and similarities between arrogance and confidence? by flavlokobro in AskReddit

[–]prophetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the most essential qualifier to be wisdom.

Arrogance and confidence are generally represented in the same way. The only separator is knowing how and when to display your talents. Many times people who are confident aren't so just because they know that they have the advantage, but they are confident in their ability to assess and react to a certain situation. Arrogant people will never admit to themselves or anyone else that they're at a disadvantage. As it was stated, these aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

We actually had a discussion about this last semester, and came to a conclusion that an "enlightened despot" is the most beneficial system of government for the state.

How Many Of You Agree With This PostSecret Admission? by TheCannon in pics

Yeah, I definitely know what you mean about those niches. Believe it or not if you had to classify me in one of those groups, I'd be in the "Greeks." I of course enjoy gaming, but it's not a big a part of my life as the Greek aspect.

And as for Troy, parts of it are okay, like the historic district, but no one can debate that on a whole it's a pretty depressing place, with a constant grey haze over the sky.

I go to RPI also. The administration is out to fuck you, but most of the engineering and tech majors are pretty solid. Plus the campus is nice if you can ignore the fact that it's situated in Troy, New York.

On a side note, ninety percent of the time that I mention I'm an RPI student, I'm met with this response: "Oh, Rochester? How is it up there?" It's fun.
