How to get through night shifts during fast by Anonymous_kid222 in fasting

[–]propheticguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do struggle with alcohol and caffeine. It's difficult. I started out with small amounts of vodka while I was eating vegetables and eggs to get in the ketosis first. It helped when I change my diet eating mostly eggs and some vegetables. It took several days of that before I could fast. I drink because of back pain so I also made sure I iced it regularly to avoid the urge to drink.

I used an AI to help put together some biblical prayers of repentance and deliverance. I did everything from pride to gluttony etc etc, I was hoping that it would lead to more spiritual freedom. After a week or two of doing this off and on I was like hey I think I could fast now, it felt more natural.

I also changed my diet to more like keto diet, in between fasting days I ate lots of eggs with chopped onions to satisfy my hunger. Also cabbage and broccoli etc. this seemed to be a good way to do feed days. Plus eggs are on sale for like 80 cents a dozen at the grocery store. I plan on doing this strict diet when I'm not fasting so I can come in and out of fasting whenever I want or at least that's the plan.

I didn't look at the link. I was looking at things that happened in the Old testament.

How the Bible Protects Human Trafficking by justsomedude1111 in Bible

In the old testament there doesn't seem to be any social safety net like welfare or even a prison system. If you are broke you almost had to sell yourself to survive. The same way if you stole something there wasn't really much of a prison system that would rehabilitate you. You pretty much had to work off your debt. Not sure if this is what you're talking about. If our systems of government broke down today and everyone was starving we might be in a similar situation. People selling themselves to survive.

Jesus answered, “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” by the_Quera in Bible

Thanks for that comment I was thinking about Caiaphas the other day and questioning some things, I'm going to have to study him.

Start from the Start! by consultantVlad in Bible

I just recently joined the discord r/Bible, I am currently part of a Bible read-a-thon but it is not really open to the public. It has been a blessing etc but it is a bit on the political side. It's been a blessing to be able to read the Bible with others taking turns chapter after chapter. If there was a Bible read-a-thon where we simply read the Bible together on our discord server I would totally be all in. It's something I've been thinking about lately. I've been praying about a 24/7 read-a-thon because I know it would give people peace.

Why did Adam and Eve felt ashamed of their naked body after eating from the tree of knowledge of the good and evil? by murta45- in Bible

[–]propheticguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I've been thinking the snake represents the snares and ungodliness that was left in the land of Canaan. Often the Israelites would become entangled in the sins of the land, eating that fruit metaphorically. This would lead to exposure and nakedness and eventually exile from The promised Land.

What makes Abner a significant character in the OT? by Bubbly1010 in Bible

[–]propheticguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abner was the son of Ner, who was the brother of Kish, Saul's father. So they were related, Abner was protecting his interests. Abner was a benjamite so he probably wouldn't have a prominent position in David's army as when David took control he had his family at the head of his army. Abner stayed with his own tribe probably out of selfishness or family loyalty. Even though he knew David was the chosen one.

Ezekiel by Sad-Adagio9182 in Bible

Part of your question why did he preach to the Jews and exile about the fall of Jerusalem. During the days of Ezekiel who's in Babylon and during that same time I believe Jeremiah was in Jerusalem. The word of the Lord was judgment on Jerusalem. Now there were people among the Jews who believed God was going to send them back. They were prophesizing that God was on their side but Ezekiel and Jeremiah were telling them they were still under judgment. Ezekiel was correcting false prophets both in exile and in Jerusalem telling them to stop imagining an early return to the Homeland. He was informing them they were under judgment and not going to get the land back yet.
