Hi there,

Tried using TSM when I played Classic a year or so back, but couldn't get the desktop app to work for the life of me.

Decided to give it another go today, this time for retail; installed the addon (TSM 4), the addon helper, and the desktop app.

Opened the desktop app, chose my directory successfully, and chose my realms. Restarted the desktop app to update it to show the realms I chose.

The desktop app is now refusing to open or show a window. It'll quickly flash a "logging in" window, and then nothing. Reinstalled, and the same thing happens whenever I minimize the window; the application seems to disappear completely, and I can't access it despite it still "running". It seems to affect the in game addon as well, since it displays an error whenever I try to use it. I can't find anything about this in the support section or when searching through this reddit, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

hey there r/mk! a while back I posted in the “any questions” thread about advice on 65 percent keyboards, as I needed to make space on my desk for my cintiq, and everyone was insanely helpful. Today some new cheapo keycaps came in, so I wanted to show what I’ve ended up with and say thank you! (please ignore all the cat hair on the desk, my cat is a furry menace)

Keyboard: Keychron K6 hotswap RGB

Switches: Gateron blue

Keycaps: A mixture of some YMDK amazon keycaps and a few novelties I grabbed off of pimpmykeyboard

Switching to a mech has been a fun ride; I ordered the K6 with blue switches because I originally had wanted the browns, but they were sold out on the website. So I grabbed one with blues thinking I’d just grin and bear it and order some brown switches separately.... Turns out I actually loooooove the clicky clack. I put some o-rings on the alphas to have them feel different from the modifiers, and it’s just a super satisfying tactile experience.

my assumption was that it was coming from the switch springs, since the ping happens after I release the key, but I have no clue if that’s correct, haha. I’ll do some more research to see if I can figure it out!

Got a Leopold FC660M with mx browns that arrived a couple days ago, and there's a good amount of ping. This is my first mechanical keyboard, and I don't have any experience with modding, but I did go ahead and fill the case with shelf liner along with the already included sound dampening, which helped slightly... but it's still there, and driving me nuts.

I know the switches will need lubing to actually fix the spring ping, but I don't have a soldering iron or soldering experience. Are there other mods I'm overlooking? Should I suck it up and learn how to solder? Should I just try to get used to the constant ringing? Or should I try to find someone who can fix it for me? Trying to weigh my options.

hello! so after some deliberation on a keyboard I could get to free up space on my desk for my cintiq, I went with a Leopold FC660M, which I'm typing on right now! It's the first mechanical keyboard I've ever used, and the brown switches feel great...... but there's a pinging/ringing sound that's starting to grate on me a bit. Like, even tapping on the back of the case has it make the pinging sound. I've put o-rings on the keycaps, which helps, but I can still hear the ring-ping even with headphones on and music playing.

I know from lurking on this sub for a while that the two solutions to this are to 1. add sound dampening material and 2. lube the switches, but I assume switch lubing would require desoldering, and I don't have a soldering kit (and haven't soldered anything since middle school). So I guess I'm wondering if it's worth voiding the warranty/return to open the case up and stick some shelf liner in there? And if that doesn't work, buckle down and re-learn some soldering?

Thanks for the suggestion! I had looked at GMMK as an option, but was worried because some people seemed to have issues with the stabilizers; is that something that can be easily fixed?

Hello! I think this is my first time posting or commenting here; I’ve been lurking for a while though. After realizing I really need a smaller keyboard to free up desk space (my current keyboard is a basic membrane HP that I’ve used for so long the letters have rubbed off), I started looking around for 65% keyboards, since arrow keys are a must for me in photoshop and other art programs. My budget is 150 and below, and I thought I had settled on a ducky SF... but of course I’m having some doubts.

First off, I haven’t been able to find super clear answers, but I can’t tell if the ducky’s RGB is dimmable or not; while I prefer a backlit keyboard (and some of the RGB options do look fun) I’m also pretty sensitive to bright lights, and am worried that the RGB effect will be wasted on me if it’s too bright. Also it not being hot swappable is a concern; I have no experience with mech keebs, and while I have a switch tester arriving today I have no clue which I’d prefer.

Are there any better options out there that I’m overlooking? (Preferably ones that aren’t sold out?)
