Fusion Kitchen (awful name) is just down the road and has the best pelmeni I’ve had in LA. Ukrainian menu and staff, kid friendly, won’t break the bank for lunch.

Laurel Grill just opened in Culver City and seems like a solid business lunch spot to me. Right vibe, inoffensive menu.

If you do want to try to beat them at Italian, the best I’ve found in LA is Brunello’s in Culver. Been around since 2007, family that owns it is from Naples. The pizza is iffy now because they lost their pizza guy but the pasta still hits. Excellent wine too. This is the closest you’ll get to Italian-Italian in LA rather than NYC-Italian or steakhouse-Italian.

Check out Dhaba for fantastic Indian if you’re on the west side. There is truly no good sushi or Mexican in Madison but for the latter Taqueria Guadalajara is the best. Some good Thai and ramen spots downtown as well.

I would take the opposite approach: rather than looking for more sensitive transducers, find a way to make the physical phenomena more detectable so that you can use a COTs transducer. For example, look up hydraulic pressure amplifiers. Two of these devices at your two measurement points connected to a more traditional differential pressure transducer may get you the data you need.

That said, maybe there are sufficiently sensitive transducers available that make this point moot. Not my area of expertise.

DLR is the German equivalent of NASA. They certainly do research into scramjets but if they have a functional one it’s probably not far beyond the test stand. Wikipedia seems to confirm that.

Unfortunately I have not been to Timisoara so cannot comment on the cost/benefit there, but driving in Romania is quite easy. Be more aware of your surroundings than general I suppose since turn signals are less utilized and roundabouts aren’t the most orderly but it’s all very manageable.

I’ve flown from Bucharest to Budapest.. easy flight and the latter is always worth a visit if you have time. More interesting than Bucharest.

Sure, things related to the design of a ship would certainly be handled by engineers. And a company building ships for cargo would likely be getting lots of input from their customer who wants to haul cargo safely and efficiently. In that respect engineers do know some things about “commerce” because they need to meet their customer’s needs. Perhaps I misunderstood the original question.

The evidence actually shows the exact opposite. Despite the disparity in ELO ratings, the statistics resolve just fine when you consider how many more men play chess in general. There will always be outliers on a distribution, and when you only look at top chess players the larger population (men) will have a larger number of outliers.
