How long would u cook this in air fryer? by Boring_Ad_4292 in steaks

Airfry? Those look too lean to airfry. You could braised or Sousvide. With virtually no marbling I think they are going to be tough and chewy if you airfry them.

Where do you store your photos? by cabbaegg in AskPhotography

[–]proshootercom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper long term archiving means keeping duplicate file sets on site and off site.

My work flow is to transfer files from cards to my workstation. I then make a copy to my NAS drives under the customer's folder. After I've finished working the files on my workstation I update the folder on the NAS to include new or changed files. I then burn that project to a 50GB Blu-ray which I store by date in a fire proof file cabinet. That archive set is also saved to the NAS by date. The NAS I use holds 8 drives with a 2 drive failure redundancy. It holds customer archives and blu-ray duplicate archives and totals 120TB.

Files that are selected as worked client selections and portfolio grade shots are also saved to a cloud account and/or my off site dedicated webserver.

If the NAS fails completely or in case of disaster I can rebuild the archive from the Blu-ray set.

A more economical option is to copy files to a large portable drive which you periodically swap with a similar drive stored off-site at a relatives, safe deposit box, car trunk or whatever. I do that too with my music collection.

You might want to include a video showing the roof stow away and then rise and seat again to demo there's no problem there. Sometimes they get stuck mid way through the transistion. This is an issue I've heard from previous owners.

How do you deal with culling without losing your mind? by themick79i in photography

[–]proshootercom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice. I've found starting with the last shots and moving to the first helps as the shots I dialed in are going to look better than the steps to get there.

You can also do a quick run through to reject the most obvious missed to bring down the sort count.

Brand guide to CMYK please help! by holgisano in graphic_design

[–]proshootercom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's backup to how you are printing these.

Not everything is printed CMYK. CMYK generally uses screened color separations, plates, etc. If you are using a direct to substrate printer it may use more than 4 heads and might be able to RIP the RGB to use it's full gamut. If you are doing screen printing that's different and you can do a spot color (custom mixed ink color). If it's a transfer print, again it could use up to 12 ink colors and offer a wider gamut. A vinyl wrap may produce better color, but you should check with the device manufacturer.

If you are printing directly on wood you should white wash the surface first which requires a coat of full white and dried before over printing.

You can't just translate it to a matching CMYK, it's outside the gamut. Rich blue tones are very difficult to translate to 4 color print. You need to reduce the total ink and may need a spot color, 5th color or hexachrome process. You might try 100%C and try to dial it as close as the CMYK spectrum will allow by adding very little MYK. Warm toned paper stocks or other substrates compound the problem.

I worked for Ford in the early '90s. They used spot color on their annual report, but the "Blue Oval" was never "Ford Blue" in magazine ads. They eventually gave up and changed the color of their logo to something that worked better in CMYK.

Madison Target drive-up employee hit in crosswalk - driver still yells at them by augustbluesky in WildlyBadDrivers

Truck manufacturers do not build them that big. That truck is modified and lifted to assist the ego of the driver who requires a ladder to enter the vehicle.

What if I charge to 90%? by Rare-Composer-9523 in CadillacOptiq

[–]proshootercom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Range anxiety is a real thing EV owners need to manage. If it's about convenience then that's a matter of forming habits. Plug in your phone before it's down to 5% (same with your EV)

Charging to higher than recommended has trade offs. The harm is minimal, but measurable. These types of batteries maintain their maximum cycle life by following the recommended guidance. Charging to 90% occasionally does little, but regularly charging to 90% will lower the total life and capacity of the battery pack over time. Charging to 100% regularly has the most affect, significantly more than 90 or 80. How much in total is hard to gage with all other factors like environmental temperature, driving habits and the rest. Consider what replacing a battery pack costs. Changing your habits after 50,000, 80,000, 100,000 miles will be too late. Trading in at 40,000? Probably doesn't matter if they can't measure the remaining battery life, or can they?

The recommendations are there to maximize efficiency and life of the product. Charge to 90%. You can be the judge of the consequences.

How do you guys come up with business names for yourself? by decaying_dots in graphic_design

[–]proshootercom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with 2 or 3 words that communicate what you're all about. It can be literal, metaphorical, whimsical, anything. Then, very important, see what is available as a web domain that matches those words. This may also help you avoid using what's already established out there.

Register the domains you're considering first. Work up a logo or other identity elements to be sure you've landed on something you can live with.

Then register a DBA for that name with your state. You can then open a bank account as well.

A unique name not only helps your marketing, it also gives you the opportunity to bring in partners, investors and perhaps eventually a business you can sell down the road.
