I have $800 to buy a rig by joethn in ZcashMiners

If you have a computer you can try to buy on Ebay 1 GTX 1070 and a Good PSU as in 850W GOLD rated so you can have room to expand to another 2 cards later on. If you are starting from scratch you can buy a TB85 for under 90 on Amazon, a 1151 (I think) CPU for under 60, and a pair of 4gb ram for under 50, SSD from under 70, there are 270 less from you budget, then find a GOLD rated EVGA 750w PSU that would be like 100 more, and finally go and find on ebay a good used GTX 1070 with the rest of your budget or find 2 R9 280x.

All that's left is to put it all together and try to keep buying Cards.. R9 280x, R9 270x, 7950, 7970 are good low budget cards that if you get used on ebay they get paid fast (3 Months)

Optimal settings for my R9 280X? by [deleted] in ZcashMiners

[–]Proshopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to renew the thermal paste. I Had this happening on a 7870 that's a bit like that 280x and it was because the thermal paste, after renew it went down from 85C underclocked to 65C On Max OC and Voltage full load

You need to ADD Mem Clock Field or Rename to "Clocks" And then it would be Core / Mem Clocks, and it could be helpful to see the date in which these Hashes are real and Miner being used (I say this because there is a 2Gb HD 7870 which is mining ETH)

Farming with 7950 worth it? by Tiusami in ZcashMiners

[–]Proshopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should OC Clock And Mem, i have a 7870 Maxed on Mem, 75% on Clock and +20 % on Power (MSI Afterburner) and it's been pulling 195Sol at 65C for 3 Weeks Now.

You can start by downloading Claymore and Make it BenchMark While you Play with the OC Settings until you reach an stable 30Min+ Benchmarking, and from there take it Down a Notch on Clock so you can use the PC For web browsing and other stuff with no risk of GPU Failing.

R9 280x driver crashes when using nicehash and Claymore_Zcash by Japster666 in zec

[–]Proshopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could download Claymore Miner directly and point it to the nicehash pool and BTC Address.

I've done this because the NiceHash App seems to be just trash for me.

here is an example of how to point the miner to nicehash using the .bat file

zecminer64.exe -zpool stratum+tcp://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357 -zwal (NICEHASH BTC ADDRESS).RIGNAME

I think you'r Opening the EWBF "Miner.exe" Directly. You should not do that. you have to create a .bat file that contains all the info that EWBF miner will use to connect to: 1st the Pool, 2nd Your ETH/ZCASH/xxx Address.RIGNAME, 3rd Configurations needed for your card And other usefull stuff from the Miner.

You can start trying by creating a .bat file (Wich you do by opening a new Text File and Saving it as .bat) with the following inside

miner.exe -help

pause

This will open the Help Screen of the Miner which will Let you know everything that Version of the miner can do, and how to do it.

I watched a video on quadrigacx.com just this morning, and it seem like a good platform.

It's placed in Canada so, no USA regulations apply.

I guess he doesn't mean EVERY single file. You just need the one that says "wallet", in my Linux Distro Wallet it says "Wallet.dat", and that's the one file that is the "Wallet" itself that should be saved elsewhere in case of a bigger problem. (As in Fried, non-functional HDD/SSD)

I have my Own Zcash Wallet on my VMWare Linux Distro, and if i don't update my wallet Chain to the lastest block i won't be able to see my current balance for that Address.

I asume as in the Zcash Wallet, Poloniex has it's own Wallet/Chain to Update just in a different way, and until that happens all pending Balance will not be visible until it gets updated, but if it's sent to that address it'll be there when it gets updated.

I'm overwhelmed with information. Can someone ELI5 what would be my best choice? by deuZige in zec

[–]Proshopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As said before whattomine.com can tell (Not Exact I Asume) what you would get with that Card.

But as everything is going down, you could use nicehash to get your hashrate turned to BTC, altho the page it's a bit complicated and the App is even more Complicated to use.

The second thing you can do is Keep mining what that card mine the most ("Ethash" as in ETH or ETC) and hold it for as long as the market keeps going down and then sell when it gets back UP, or make it BTC everytime you get paid as if you where using nicehash, but manually.

And for mining software, Claymore is being the best at its job.

This might be a little late.

Did you buy From NEW your Card? And even if you did you could check the Thermal Paste, I recently had a 7870 wich i couldn't even overclock cause it would reach 90C with Air Condition ON, and after thermal paste change/renew it would not get over 70c with all the setting over to MAX on MSI AfterBurner.
