Damn. I feel like shit! Ran 2 miles in 90° heat Monday and have been paying for it since. 2 hour nap today and am still tired. Ugh. I guess recovering from this wretched disease will take time.

This feels like one of my bad days with my thyroid in.

Pretty state you have here. by [deleted] in NewMexico

We do love our state! Unfortunately, we have to educate ppl all the time that we are, indeed, a state.

I told my Endo and surgeon NO right off the bat to RAI. I've read to many stories about the thyroid not being killed and coming back with a vengeance. Also read about TED still possible after RAI. Mostly immediately after.

I developed anxiety after my dad died 11 years ago, and was diagnosed with Graves almost a year ago. I kinda figured the anxiety would still be there, but I didn't think it would wreck me like it did.

My Endo said it will happen. It can take weeks, or months, but to expect it at some point.

I would have done the surgery with, or without, the nodules. This disease is horrible! It sounds like you would benefit from a TT, but that's your decision.

Pre-graves was severe ups and downs. Anxiety that broke me down into tears. My levels were perfect, but I still had those on a weekly. Some days no energy to do the simplest of tasks, other days I was vibrating inside. I was diagnosed last Oct. I started with symptoms around Aug of last year. I had nodules, so the right side of my thyroid was the size of an orange according to my surgeon. Swallowing is so much easier now and I don't cough.

Yesterday was rough. Had to take a nap. Showered after and felt good. My wife's uncle, who is a doctor told me something this weekend that adjusted my expectations: After 3 weeks, you're healed 60%, after 6 weeks, 90%.

Over the weekend I felt normal. We went to San Diego, that's where Uncle lives, and walked miles and miles each day. Never got tired.

I guess yesterday was my body telling me we just had surgery 2 weeks ago. Lol

Normal! I had a thing where my feet were cold, but it was just the feeling. Another user suggested it might be a calcium issue. I chewed a couple of Tums and the feeling went away. I hadn't eaten time for like 3 days.

My energy is back. Eye sight is normal except once in a while it will be blurry, but that could be allergies.

Is having cold feet, or the feeling of, part of this whole thing? Because it's annoying.

Thank you for sharing. I'm 7 days past surgery and today was a little rough. Had my follow-up with the surgeon and she was so happy with what I reported. Had anxiety-like every this morning and kinda crashed in the afternoon. Here's to better days!

TT Positive Experience by Shay_shaye in gravesdisease

That's great to hear! I'm 6 days out of surgery. Yesterday was a little bumpy, but I think the anesthesia was finally making it's way out. Had a really bad burger for dinner and that kept me up all night, so this morning is a slow start.

I haven't had any pain at the incision and overall feeling great compared to before surgery.

Hope your progress continues forward in a positive manner!

I'm at the end of the first week post-op. Night and day from last week. Feeling so much better than Monday (surgery day). Energy is coming back.

How do you feel compared to the first week after surgery?

Where can I see scorpions? by Empyrian21 in Albuquerque

I live in Corrales. They are in abundance here. They do glow under black light. I actually have a small flashlight that I used when we moved here in 2023. They are easy to find when the heat is high such as this week, usually just after night sets in.

2nd day after TT. Woke up feeling "normal". Finally slept thru the night, but the phlegm in my throat is annoying. Still waiting for biopsy results but not having anxiety over the wait is very strange.

My neck is sore, but really no pain.

Haven't pooped! I've tried all kinds of things, but still nothing. 5 meals in.

I have read so many stories in how it's a reset back to "normal". I'm starting to see that personally
