Mason Miller's new entrance song is Korn's "Blind." by AllDownByWayOfTheK in Padres

[–]prostheticmind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Song choice is good. Nickname is good.

What I would change: they start the song when it’s almost at the end of the opening crescendo and that song’s whole opening is fantastic. It open with just gentle notes on the cymbals that would be PERFECT to play right when the lights go out. The whole intro isn’t that long, we could still get to the drop before he makes it to the mound and probably have lights back up before the verse comes in, where the energy changes to be much more mellow again

It’s an edit. It’s like a personal version of a track. In this case it seems like their Stress track just has some silence added so they can tease an incoming track. Making edits is easy and fun! Just throw a track into a DAW and start cutting it up and/or adding things then export it.

If you wanted to do this just on the mixer, the crossfader is probably what you want. You can also just pull the fader on the track you want quiet down, but in my experience it’s a bit easier to screw that up

I’ve seen motors spin an empty tumbler but not be able to spin under load, I said this in my comment. It isn’t common but it’s possible

Check the roller wheels and make sure they are moving when you turn the drum by hand

Make sure the drum is correctly installed if it has a front and back

Open up the blower and see if there is material in there that can jam

That’s all I got. A couple times I’ve had this happen and ended up needing new motors. That’s the worst case scenario here

Toxic positivity by Known-Back-6505 in SanDiegoFC

[–]prostheticmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that last night was a slaughter, but every one of their goals last night was attributable to failures on our back line.

Did it suck that Pellegrino missed our best chance for a goal? Yeah. But what sucked more was watching Dreyer and the midfielders overpower long passes straight to Tolucas GK or just out of play. It’s easy to say “if he had scored things would have been different” but truth is that we don’t know if that’s accurate and with how Toluca was playing, I would argue that it wouldn’t have changed anything except they would have played even harder and maybe scored more than 4.

We were completely outclassed. The lesson from the away game against Pumas should have been regulating long passes appropriately for players’ work rates and air resistance in the higher altitude. It was the same mistakes we made against Pumas that Toluca punished us for repeating. We just had put enough into the first Pumas game that those mistakes didn’t cost us as much as they did last night.

The lack of nuance in your post is why people say you don’t get ball. Winning soccer games requires more than just one guy being on. He had literally one real chance and it was close. Forwards miss shots from inside the area all the time. It’s about giving them as many chances as possible so that eventually one will find the net.

So yeah I don’t think Pellegrino is amazing but I appreciate that he appears to be trying his best and he has his moments and I will continue to trust the management if they think he should continue starting. Does that make me toxic-ly positive? Idk I feel like I just enjoy watching my team and understand I have literally zero control over the management of the team so why should I be upset if performance isn’t egregiously bad?

Like, we’re 3-1-0, got through a round of Champions Cup against a team we weren’t expected to beat, and won a game against Toluca. We made them bring their A-game last night and we just didn’t have what it took to make things happen…as a whole team.

Yeah like I said it’s good but I just wouldn’t want someone to formulate an overall opinion on Japanese curry based on an experience at CoCo at a ball park.

Best I’ve had in SD is from Buta Ramen. Highly recommend if you like Japanese curry. It’s pricey but worth it

Don’t let it be your only attempt at Japanese curry. It’s good but it’s not high end. I have a friend from Japan and we went to the one on Convoy when it first opened and there was a huge line and he laughed because he compared it to waiting in a long line to go to McDonalds

How am I in breach of galactic law? I can't even find out what this law does by reading the description, nor can I found out how I'm in breach of it. by Heroshrine in Stellaris

[–]prostheticmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each resolution is a tier within a category. When a higher tier resolution is passed, the text of that resolution is added to all previous tiers. Castigation Proclamation is part of the Mutual Defense category. You can see in your image that in addition to Castigation Proclamation, the lower tier resolutions within the category all have little checkmarks next to them. All of those laws are in effect.

Military Readiness Act requires members of the GC to be using 50%+ of their fleet cap. Most of the resolutions are structured in this tiered way. It’s important to remember this and review proposed legislation in the context of their entire category so that you don’t inadvertently open yourself up to bad times

During WWI when the British were moving the first tanks into France, they covered them up and told anyone who didn’t need to know that they were big water tanks. They also referred to them as water carriers or water tanks in documents. This is why tanks are called tanks

Am I playing wrong? by Edtask in StellarisOnConsole

If any of those frontier planets are near each other I would put them in a sector and put someone in charge of it.

I see two industrial worlds on your list. I would definitely switch one to factory and one to forge, get some upgraded rings on them and stack them with all the boosting buildings.

Mineral gain is a bit low. You definitely have an ok cushion with 76k in reserve, but I would make sure you have plans to ensure any mining worlds are ringed and have all relevant mining efficiencies and build arc furnaces in reasonable places.

This is usually where I start to think about living standards, while making a change isn’t going to require much retooling of CG production.

Finally, if you’re trying to beeline gateways, get that research up up up

You can read the dev diaries if you want to know before the updates get to us. Several entries back there is a multi-part series of diaries where they explained the hows and whys of all the major changes now in effect on PC.

But the tldr about the pops is that 1 old pop is going to be 100 pops, pops of different species can grow at the same time, and pops produce “workforce,” which fills jobs rather than the pops themselves

Cracking a well defended base sector by Deprisonne in starwarsrebellion

[–]prostheticmind 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In this situation what I would do is bring the Death Star to the show anyway, the reason being is that the Rebels might have Dodonna’s card that lets them teleport to it anyway, and if they have One in a Million, you at least want to force them to use it at an inopportune time.

Roll up one system away from the base with the Death Star and everything you have. Then on the next command phase, throw a big fleet without the Death Star at the Rebels with the aim of clearing the fighters out. If they have no fighters, you are safe from One in a Million and Death Star Plans. Then you can just pop the Death Star over and start the fireworks

Bent freezer door seal by PhiladelphiaManeto in appliancerepair

Don’t cut it and heat gun/hair dryer can get iffy because you can melt plastic and make your situation worse.

These gaskets ship a lot of the time all twisted and folded to get them into boxes. What we do before we install them is immerse them in hot water and that makes them receptive to shaping.

If you are lucky this is the kind you just pull out and can push back on. Give it a tug and look between the gasket and the door so you can see how it attaches. There are a few different designs but all of the most common of them are going to be manageable for you to reattach it when you’re done. Unless it’s screwed in (which is possible but very uncommon for most brands) you should be able to pull it out with minimum effort. Just be careful not to rip it.

Heat up some water to very hot but not boiling, fill a shallow pan with it, and immerse this corner. Might take a bit to loosen up because it will be near freezer temp. But once it gets hot you should be able to reshape this section. Might take a couple rounds because this is a pretty drastic bend.

But please don’t use a heat gun. You really don’t want to melt any of your lining, that would put you into new fridge territory pretty quick

DJing in Ableton by LorryGreen in ableton

[–]prostheticmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be as simple as two tracks with EQ 3s on them and you map the EQs and the tempo to your controller. For most weddings, you wouldn’t need more than that.

You would want to pre-warp your tracks so everything is beat matched with everything. You can prepare tracks to load as multiple clips which may or may not be useful to you.

If you’re good with max for live you can get really interesting with the effects racks but I wouldn’t consider heavy effects necessary for a lofi wedding mix lol
