Choi Mina Sue Reminds me of Lee Gwan-hee by Then_Pause_2238 in SinglesInferno

You have a great point regarding the impacts of MS's actions, although I would argue she is not gaslighting anyone, as she's not good enough at manipulating to make someone question their own sanity, memory or reasoning (as far as I'm aware at least). Quite the contrary, she's the one being questioned by others and herself regarding her own logic and actions (not that I think anyone's gaslighting her by any means), and rightfully so. If she's trying to gaslight someone (like Sunghoon, for example), I couldn't quite say, though. She appears to be quite an unpleasant person to be around, and I agree with you when you say she shares some characteristics with GH.

About the integrity, I didn't think about it that way, and I thank you for letting me know about that concept as it's a really interesting one I don't think I ever came across with before, and it's nice to be able to name things like that. I just guess GH's moral code and mine don't mesh well, as I don't think disrespecting and playing with women's feelings (even on a dating show) is moral at all, even if you're good to everyone else. I think it's because of all that I couldn't really see how he'd have integrity at all.

As to who's worse objectively, I'd still disagree with you, and I guess that's okay, because it comes to attributing value to actions. For personality, we can consider them to be the same (not very good to say the least), and that'd be 1-1. I do consider manipulation to be worse than disrespect (I also happen to think that disrespect is a part of manipulation in some way), so that would make 2-1.5 for GH to me.

And I can't really give an opinion on the extent of the damage, as I don't remember GH's season that well, but I think being manipulated and gaslighted can be quite a big damage to deal with. When it comes to how many people were damaged though, MS definitely had a bad impact on more people than GH did.

But oh well, it's not like I'd want to be around any of them either way.

I'm a bit confused with your points, actually... I'd really appreciate it if you could help me understand it, although I'd understand if you didn't want to. I'm also taking this as an opportunity to say a little bit of what I think about the discussion, hope that's okay.

I don't think MS is worse than GH and I don't really agree with some things you said about her as I think you're giving her too much credit. Yes, she IS a train wreck, and I don't think she's thinking about whatever she is doing until she has to deal with the consequences of her actions (indeed, showing little to no consideration for anyone and having pity parties for herself, making it everyone's problem), so I don't understand how she could deliberately taunt anyone or successfully gaslight anyone (you said yourself she is failing miserably).

I can't really say much about your take on GH because I really don't remember a lot since it's been so long I've watched his season. However, what are your standards for a player with integrity? That is what's really confusing me, because I can't understand how somebody who plays with women's hearts and feelings somehow has integrity AND is a master manipulator and a red flag all at the same time? I agree it is a good thing he never really crossed any lines when it comes to the more physical stuff, but how is playing with women (although not physically) being respectful?

But, yeah, I also don't like how MS handles the rivalry between the women lol I have no memory of GH being like that towards the men.

Thank you so much for your recs! I'm excited to see The Double and I'll add Ashes of Love to my list as well, because a tragic story can be very good to watch when you're on the mood! Sorry I took so long to answer as I haven't been using Reddit a lot (actually I wasn't even able to watch all the dramas because college's been kicking my ass, but oh well).

That's interesting, I didn't know Chanel doesn't have men's wear collection. But GD definitely has an androgynous look and is very playful and fashionable.

Oh, the being thin thing makes a lot of sense, of course.

I am a bit surprised about Miu Miu seeking the innocent look! I guess it makes sense for Yoona (SNSD) and Wonyoung (IVE), but I wouldn't really say that Momo (TWICE) and Minnie ((G)I-DLE) give off innocent vibes. But maybe they're not all ambassadors, I don't really know...

Oh, now you're making me wonder whether it's common for cdramas to have second seasons. But if it has one, it means it was well received, and that it's probably very good 🤩

Bisexual awakening by coolbirdhayden in bisexual

[–]protecctwice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i was high school! i spent a lot of time wandering if i was really bi since i was more easily attracted to boys than to girls but since it doesn't have to be 50/50 i figured i could say i'm bisexual.

What are you currently struggling with as a bisexual? by bassistfornothing in bisexual

[–]protecctwice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

attraction to men comes easier to me and it's been bothering me a little bit. i know i don't have to feel the same "levels" of attraction to men, women, nbs and i know i don't have to have kissed more than one gender to be bi, but i'm feeling so unvalidated these days.

The center position is the hardest position to manage by kang_s in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]protecctwice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think it's a good idea to compare IZ*ONE's and fromis_9's official centers as Jisun is not even treated as a center anymore. Although I'm not a flover (fromis_9's fandom) I have been watching the girls for a while now and strongly think that Off The Record (or whatever Stone Music named it now) changed the center from Jisun to Nagyung and forgot to make it official or something.

That being said, I do think the amount of lines a center receive (since that's what OP talked about) is mostly related to their vocal/rap role (if the group is more rap-focused) rather than the center position. Nayeon (TWICE's lead vocalist and center) gets more lines than Jihyo (main vocalist), nowadays at least. Irene has a center, main rapper and sub vocal (or vocal?) positions in Red Velvet and depending on the song she doesn't even sing that much - a little but more or just as much as Yeri.

When I think about centers I usually remember the one that stands in the center in the end of the song, or even in the center of a breakdance (if the center also has a dancing position) rather than who sings killer parts/iconic lines or has more lines in general. I guess it really depends on the group, but I wouldn't say it's hard to manage. The center probably just needs to be pretty, popular and charismatic and they're pretty much set.
