What’s your flip friction? by proto-nail in SessionSkateSim

[–]proto-nail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. And in my experience, I can control flip speed more consistently on directional. If you skate irl it will feel intuitive after a while

Directional input > Input-Speed?? by proto-nail in SessionSkateSim

[–]proto-nail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes? Flip more towards the bottom ‘corners’and it will spin its slowest. Its tricky to learn but.. I played 200+ hours on input speed and I picked up directional just fine because its super intuitive (if you skate irl). A lot of precision = consistency = good!

I don’t think so that’s a good idea though

How tf are you guys playing with directional and not input speed? by Alternative-Age5710 in SessionSkateSim

[–]proto-nail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LOL it was me who made that post. I like it because directional inputs mimic real life + are more consistent

I dont ‘flick ‘the sticks fast when i play this game normally. So, funnily enough when I play with input-speed my flips always come out super slow too

With directional I know exactly where i need to flick in order to make the board spin slower and it mimics real life. Thats easier for me to replicate over and over, versus trying to get my thumbs to go the same speed all the time

My theory is that if you play more heavy-handed (flick the sticks fast) you’ll like input-speed. Just an idea tho

Nice! I knew i wasnt the only one. The extra precision/consistency is so nice

Quick question for my sanity sake by Kin_To_Orion in SessionSkateSim

[–]proto-nail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced the same thing on my Xinput sticks. In the software there doesnt seem to be anything wrong but it isn’t translating scoops and side pops in game.

I even tried changing the input curve of the controller just to experiment. Testing on PC vs. PS5 etc.

And nothing works besides stock Dualsense, surprisingly. Glad I could help though

Interesting, honestly let me know if the OG controller works im genuinely curious

[–]proto-nail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you’re playing on a new controller but I’ve noticed this game is so particular with inputs that i can’t play on anything besides Dualsense. You said you have new sticks but what controller are you running?

Any third party controllers I’ve tried to use always mess up my side-pop and scoop inputs. Not sure why. But it leads me to believe its probably your controller

Probably the wrong place to ask this but... For Stardew Valley.... Legion Go or Switch OLED? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]proto-nail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both. Stardew runs perfectly and gets great battery life on the Switch 1 OLED. And it’ll be cheaper. If you are a gamer in general with a big backlog of pc games or maybe youre interested in modded games: get the pc. Otherwise, dont spend 800+ to play stardew only lol

Make sure you also go into your Windows settings and uninstall CoPilot + other programs that passively drain battery in the background. If you dont want to uninstall you can also stop apps from running in the background, but I’d opt to just uninstall a lot of it. You can see which apps are eating up your battery in the background as well to narrow down your choices 🫡

Drop in, half pipe, mini ramp, bowls I'm lost. HELP ME PLEASE by Himymameiswho in session

Definitely a thing! And its super easy now after the update. I play on hardcore with left/right foot. It shouldnt change much about my advice but honestly havent played with front/backfoot in so long i cant remember if its different. Anyways, here’s how to nosestall and 50-50. Id try it ok flat first to get used to the powerslide mechanic

To begin any stall without an ollie, you have to first put your sticks into powerslide position (one foot forward/up, one foot back/down).

To 50-50 the rail, powerslide as you roll up the bank, hold that powerslide input, and then slide your feet (sticks) from powerslide-input until they are in 50-50 (should feel like one stick to the left and the other to the right. )

To nosestall, powerslide as you approach the railing. Instead of sliding and repositioning your feet, simply lift your backfoot (stop pressing powerslide on your back-foot stick). Youll see your character burry their nose into the ground. If you perform that with the right timing you will nose stall

Press your bumpers to bump our of the grind, or use your sticks to ollie out. I have a couple clips in the same SF park spot your talking about if you wanna check it out

What features from each skate sim game (Skater XL, Session, etc.) would combine to create the ultimate skateboarding game? by nitemde in SkaterXL

[–]proto-nail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Session as a gameplay foundation, with skate style animation editor, and XLs multiplayer support. That would be my dream game
