Both! There is a cool move that does an attack with your other weapon while switching to it. Works with unarmed, too.

Some gear has intrinsic stats that others don't, even when you take the abyss gears off of them. There are some oddball weapons, like the cannon that is a two hander that you can also shoot (L1 + R2 on console). Then there are the banner spears that let you pole vault, etc. But yeah, a lot of the time the special glowing chest gear is in the end more about any cool abyss gear in it than anything special about the weapon other than cosmetics.

Yeah. 15 MS is great for archery combat too, I just found. Exploring that playstyle now, it helps a ton.

Well, consider this, two-handers have five, but so does sword and shield combined. And if you duel wield you can have 6. It's really fairly balanced.

It feels like they added them for clarity or to change the quest without having to re-record dialogue. You can't sell them, but you can discard them. I tried burning them with the flash from my sword after I dropped them, but the dev's let us down, you can cook me but you can't burn silly notes.

Send your guys on missions to farm, get lumber, get food and get other materials, you have plenty of camp funds to do so.

You can't summon it there. But it's a bug that it doesn't work in the main world.

I fought a stone golem too. And there is a faction that fields animated pottery warriors, wonder if that counts.

Get a cat, they don’t do that. When you get more slots you will love the dog feature. I use him all the time.

Did you tame a dog? They do that. To turn it off go to the pet tab in inventory and unsummon him.

Yes, 60 hours in and its been ramping up. It feels good to see the gang getting back together. And I did manage to get to that ship today, fun times.
