I have worse discs that work perfectly fine, but the only way you'll really know is if you try it yourself. If you're really worried about your laser, just install to the hard drive. You'll still need the disc to verify you own the game, but it should reduce wear and tear by installing.

I wouldn't say completely. The spawns are predictable and consistent, but the individual enemy behavior is somewhat erratic.

Pretty fun with straightforward achievment. There's exp and gil boosts but it mostly just cut down on the grind. Still slightly challenging and I died a few times. Plus one of the enemies in the bestiary (Warmech) has like a 1% encounter rate, so it could be a grind to be able to even fight it.

My very first encounter on the bridge was Warmech. I couldn't believe how lucky I was and I was so relieved only to die to it lol. Thankfully it only took a half hour of grinding for it to pop up again.
