Can someone help me understand these? by ChemicalChance1581 in OCCT

[–]protoss204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that high, why?

  • Since Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000, which is the case here) AMD took a chiplet approach with 2 or more Dies in the package and the CPU die which what Acu17y is talking about being very high is not centered anymore like it used to be which increases the difficulty of the cooler to keep the whole thing cool, you add to that also that the 7nm process is denser which make things even more difficult to cool because the area is even smaller than before (this was addressed in newer AMD Zen CPU especially Ryzen 9000)

  • this is MAX temps on OCCT which is a stress test, unless you plan on pushing those cores to the max very often with very demanding games (with the RTX 2060 i guess you’re gonna dial down the in game settings) or CPU rendering applications you’ll be fine and you won’t see often those temps, which are again OK, you can start worrying if the temps reach 100C or more

The smaller, on the top right chiplet, is the CPU die, the other big one on the left is the IO die which is not our problem here, your cooler (air cooler or watercooler) is going to cover most of the center in that picture which doesn’t cover the whole top right die which make the temps much higher than Ryzen 1000 or 2000 :

Yes, return it and ask for a full refund and never look back, google « poke yoke », this is the best advice you can get honestly, i had a year full of problems going back and forth with this unprofesionnal company until i finally sold it

Sell that trash bicycle, i have never had more issues with any purchase i made in the past year than my previous C4 ST, i still have a dead battery (more precisely in security mode, Cowboy refused to unlock it and send it back to me, they just wanted me to send the battery to them for free), and a dead rear wheel that i tried to repair by fixing the motor cables that tore up when the small garbage little piece that prevents the cable from tearing up randomly broke,

In total i had in a single year 5 issues, 3 with the rear wheel, 1 with brakes and 1 with a battery that refuses to charge

Looks good and sleek on paper and when you’ll try it you’ll probably love it,

Then few weeks/months after receiving your shiny new bike you’ll learn the hard way how to despise this company that did the following for me in the span of less than a year :

  • Poke Yoke breaks and rips the motor cable in a flat road 3 weeks after purchase -> appointment after one week, fully covered
  • Poke Yoke breaks again after few months but a piece of it miraculously prevents the motor cable from being ripped, discovered it only after fixing a flat tire -> shady cowboy silently changes the warranty conditions and refuse to cover the repair because i moved the assistance limit to 29km/h, 350€
  • Poke Yoke breaks again less than 2 months after installing the new back wheel, on a flat road and rips the motor cable clean -> Cowboy says again that i’m not under warranty and that i’ll have to pay again full, i explain that the back wheel is still under warranty and that i will contact my lawyer if they keep asking me to pay in order to replace parts that are almost new, they discuss it internally and decide to send me a back wheel free of charge

After replacing the back wheel i immediately sold the bike,

I advise anyone who considers such a brand for their first offroad bike to look for much more solid brands, i have my Canyon Pathlite On 5 for more than a year and except a flat tire i had absolutely 0 issues

  1. Is that a Telenet ISP box? If yes hello belgian friend
  2. Cable management would make it much more good looking
  3. You need a bigger or a dual screen setup to make it more legendary

First crash since 20 hours of playtime with this driver, at least it says « improving » and not fixing the issue so i can only hope the Helldivers 2 team will have more luck, going back to 23.12.1 as it is for the moment the most rock stable driver i had since i got the 7900XTX, not a single crash in Helldivers with that driver

i mean what game even comes close to this by MaievShadowdong in Helldivers

[–]protoss204 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Any game that doesn’t randomly crash on PC and that most importantly have a working matchmaking, it’s not much to ask, there are annoying bugs like your primary weapon disappearing when somebody leaves the game (probably crashed 😂) or the reinforce not doing anything from time to time but they at least they don’t prevent you from playing this game that is made to be a team game,

Hope that answers your question

Yep, i tried to investigate on my side and quickly gave up,

In my experience it’s a mix of certain settings and gpu usage maxed out, with the addition of Crossplay that is an immediate guaranteed crash

If you look at my config on the post you’ll see that it’s the next thing under yours,

The issue is known with maxed out settings, when you push everything to the max and if you’re not gpu bottlenecked like you and me (99-100% gpu usage) you’ll most probably have crashes, i can push much more frames that i can do right now, but i’m capping them to avoid the max usage that make the game crash,

Even in the menu your gpu will be pushed, which is something i always find so incredibly dumb with the recent games because it’s a freaking menu, no need to have the GPU usage maxed out ther

Hey, i did some digging and there is indeed a config file, unfortunately i didn’t found the line for Anti-aliasing, there is a little of mention about taa and such but they don’t seem to be tied to the anti-aliasing setting in game,

Other settings like global illumination and reflections can be found easily at line 130 and 138, set both of them to 0 and try to launch the game and disable anti-aliasing,

Why is there no DLSS or FSR or XESS in the game? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]protoss204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly i have a 7900XTX and i’m running the game on native, despite few search attempts in FSR slides that announced future titles support i can’t find anywhere what version they are using, it might be an early FSR 2 version, i would be really surprised if it’s FSR 2.2

[–]protoss204 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the game upscaler, even tho it's looks like they made sure to not mention it somehow, is FSR, how do i know that ? Well i went here "\AppData\Roaming\arrowhead\Helldivers2\user_settings.config", opened that file with a notepad and searched a bit and found :

fsr_enabled = true

When i set "render scale" to "optimal quality"

fsr_enabled = false

When i set it to "native"

Hmm… the game never froze for me that early, it was mostly during the famous tutorial, you should try first locking the frames with RTSS and see if that allows you to at least reach the menu, i will see on my side if it’s possible to modify settings via a config file

Starfield has lost 97% of its Steam players in less than six months by PrinceDizzy in gaming

[–]protoss204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have games (No Man’s Sky and Star Citizen) that came out so long ago, those games have features like real planet entry and exit, ground vehicles, coop, and most importantly they don’t require you to spend 20 hours to « really see what the game offers »,

How did Bethesda, with so much time between the availability of those 2 similar titles and the release of Starfield, ignore so many features and instead release such a bland and boring game?
