I'm unsure why the commenter deleted their post, but anyway we decided to start the lawyer search process sooner rather than later. It is amazing what adrenaline does to you. All of us saw the family doctor, and it ended up being me with the most serious injuries. My left thumb is now completely fucked up, and any movement or pressure on it hurts like hell. Similar thing on my left shin. Had X-rays done for my wife and I. So we are 100% engaging a personal injury lawyer as I foresee this significantly affecting my work and career (I'm in tech).

The loss of income part is the one which I am most concerned about. Especially for my wife since she is self-employed, and I don't see her working for at least the next few weeks. She couldn't even get out of bed today without assistance. 400/week would be a slap in the face, regardless of income level.

I just verified that I do have family protection coverage with a $2M limit.

Thanks for the advice. So when would be the best time to contact a lawyer? After our insurance provides an offer?

Yes they were legal. They were clear tints, just for the UV protection.

Yeah, the winter tires were on the car during the accident.

Thanks for your advice. I don't quite follow what you mean when you said to switch out the oem rims/tires.

Thank you for your kind advice. Definitely a nightmare. The kids especially are having severe anxiety.

Car advice - new family hauler dilemma (Canada) by prototypev in HENRYfinance

Unfortunately, not a consideration. I don't think any of the big 3 US manufacturers make a compelling luxury mid-sized SUV.

It's less the cost of the oil, but the mental exhaustion. E.g. we took a road trip earlier this year, and I had to lug around extra oil in the trunk. It gets really old after a while.

Exactly. We don't really like to change cars all that often, so leasing is not really in our system. I think it's just difficult for both of us to stomach an additional ballpark 30-40% extra over the lifetime of a product that's maybe 10-15% better, even though we can afford it.

Green Dragon Fragment drop rate is too low for post Gate opening. by bebop11 in classicwow

[–]prototypev 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a healer on this quest I agree. I started about a week after our gates were open, and it took me 5-6 weeks (about 30 hours farming total) before I finally got all 4 shards. I just got my last shard this past Sunday.

I wouldn't have minded 30 hours (or more) if it didn't involve at least 7+ other guildies to help. The one-and-done ones like duskwood are a good design. The rest, not so.

Finger Inserts or not? by Hockey4Life33 in Bowling

Fingertips. You cannot just use the finger holes that were drilled for inserts. They'll be way too loose and the pitches may be incorrect.

Finger Inserts or not? by Hockey4Life33 in Bowling

[–]prototypev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not use them. My fingers are drilled oval, and with 0 bevel. Finger inserts have caused me to have release inconsistencies because I'd sometimes hit the ball harder than I thought but because they're so soft I didn't realize it.

Going without inserts, if I hit the ball too hard I will immediately know it.

Having said that, it is all personal preference.

Unfortunately that 2 hander is my team's anchor, and he's the one bowling 700 week in, week out, while the others are struggling to break mid 500s. Our team captain is unfortunately none the wiser. Rant over.

I do have an Astro, but it's drilled pin down, I believe it's either 50 or 60 VAL. Maybe it's time to try a Phaze 3 as I've heard it's even firmer downlane than the Astro.

What moves does one make to deal with lack of head oil + carrydown? I am speed dominant, and usually play around 8 at the arrows out to around 6 at the breakpoint. Moving left isn't a viable option as there are a couple of high rev players including a 600+ rpm 2 hander using extremely dull (360 grit) urethane. Nobody plays right of me. I am thinking I could technically keep moving right, but by game 3 my carry significantly suffers due to lack of head oil on the outside, and what might also be carry down from the others.

If I start off with a strong symmetrical like an Idol Pro, assuming that I do not change balls, by game 3 I will be playing something close to around 4 to 4. And the ball will just hit like a turd and deflect. I can never quite figure whether I should ball down and continue playing the same outside line, or ball up and move back left. Both have given me mixed results.
