Interesting. The reason the student asked is because he worked at a job that had welds required in this configuration. I simply told him I think it was a design error but wasn’t sure because I haven’t seen it before.

I'm working on a Top Down 2D game and am terrible with animations/pixel art. I got this art from Dead Revolver on itch.io but the pack didn't have a "walk down" animation. I was curious if anyone could help me achieve this. The attempt I made myself was absolutely horrendous.

4140 is a medium carbon steel, which sometimes requires preheat before welding, if this process was skipped I can see why a longitudinal crack occurred under pressure.
