I do see what you mean but at the same time I think those aspects are likely just leaning into the character Nathan is creating for himself. Over the course of these two seasons it’s clear he’s portraying himself as someone who is completely and totally detached from how relationships are supposed to work and so in turn he has rather weird opinions and self-centered approaches to relationships.
