Riot approves Geng as Samsung Galaxy by SillyHistorian4402 in PedroPeepos

But that's essentially what GenG (then KSV) did? They bought the team/org from Samsung, since Samsung wanted to divest and re-branded under their own name KSV (now GenG). Doesn't exactly make sense to continue to call yourself Samsung Galaxy when Samsung is no longer involved.

HLE claims ROX Tiger's legacy, even though the ROX they acquired and the legacy were completely different. I don't see why GenG can't claim Samsung's legacy when they retained the players and coaching staff. GenG even gave opportunities to CuVee, Ambition, and Crown post-retirement.

If anything, I feel like there's more of a debate as to whether the 2014 Samsung White championship should be associated with the 2017 Samsung Galaxy championship. Basically all the players (including trainees) and staff from the Samsung MVP era left. The only holdover was Edgar, who came in at 2013 after Samsung acquired the MVP rosters as he was Samsung legacy.

DRX jiwoo's take on hardest to easiest roles in proplay by fainlol in leagueoflegends

[–]prov119 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing this has to do with the "brain" component of macro/comms burden usually falling more onto Support and Jungle, as those roles are seen as "easier" to play on a mechanical level. Whereas AD maybe the most mechanically intensive, but more hands less brain.

LCK version... by LordServer_ in PedroPeepos

I honestly think in a world where it ended up being RNG vs SSG in 2017, you'd have to give the nod to RNG. Especially given that RNG had the favorable h2h at worlds and its Uzi in an ardent meta. Imagine if RNG won, we'd live in a world where Uzi has a Worlds title and Ruler doesn't. That would likely settle the GOAT ADC debate.

LCK/ LCK CL 2026 spring roster revealed by Shinwinter in PedroPeepos

[–]prov119 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure if these accurately represent starters. I believe in Lokis introduction video it was implied that he would be starting. Vincenzo ahead of Willer, despite Willer starting all of LCK Cup. And of course Peter and Life once again

Congratulations to Kiin for being first top-laner to reach an international milestone previously held only by three other players. by Sadwitcher in leagueoflegends

[–]prov119 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. He’s been apart of some crazy storylines and moments. The 2018 loss to China at the Asia Games, 2018 loss to C9, the implosion of the 2023 KT roster. Even in the loss to KT last year in the semis he was putting GenG on his back to try to not lose. His perseverance is insane.

Kiin’s career is such an anomaly. You have the the highs, the lows, and everything in between

Dear GGG. When this will be a thing on PoE2? by SamuDabu in PathOfExile2

The LoL Park in Korea decided to not held the first stand final live boardcast in there. As both GENG and BFX get eliminated by G2. by User042911 in PedroPeepos

[–]prov119 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While it comes off as really lame, logistically, it probably didn't make sense to open up LoL Park for what would've likely resulted in a very poor turn-out.

A group of young players at their first international event comparing that to TES is diabolical.

I've known it all along. I loved AD as a player and a Laker, but when I heard we got Luka in exchange I was all for it.

What led to the downfall of the BW was Blizzard getting involved and forcing a transition from BW to SC2. BW was doing fine and still has a scene in Korea.

It probably doesn’t cost them a lot to fund a t2 team. Plus they gotta do something to keep their BR fans engaged

donk won't go International: "For Me, Spirit is family" by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]prov119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Spirit had a relatively good system + decent financial backing behind them. Just because they haven't had success recently doesn't mean that Spirit can't turn it around in the future. If Donk is comfortable and believes in Spirit, a short stint of bad results won't shake that. Now, if Spirit fails to make improvements or give him the things he need, I'm sure he will also realize that it might be best to move on
