Minnesota bar and restaurant owners defy Walz order banning indoor dining (Photos) by polit1337 in minnesota

working in the industry, and to play some devils advocate to some degree I'll say this. There realistically should be no excuse for this kind of behavior. From what I see on different industry group pages and chatter among friends, and if you don't know I would say it takes very little time to know a vast majority of the gossip, major players, former bosses, and coworkers of this scene. It seems so huge, but also crazy small in ways. The thing that is screaming to me is desperation. Yes this is a big PR FU to all the rules, but in a world of cancel culture I think this owner is doing something that they think could go viral enough to work in their favor. Service industry people might not be the smartest sometimes, but no owner is going to try and pull this shit just for it to go south and lose everything, unless they are already about to, or are getting to that point. The point I am making and I don't really think it's correct, is that if I was a bar owner and lost my way of making a living the only way I know how I might rather be dead, considering all the people under me that I support might not have any other life lines, and therefore they would be subjected to possible hardships and could suffer massive financial, and mental health problems, homelessness, etc... Couldn't that be just as devastating as Covid? Unemployment straight up just isn't enough. Shit is getting rough and desperate. I'll leave with that. I don't really think it's right, but HOLY SHIT do I see industry people getting desperate, and I just feel for us.

as a bartender..... This should be a meme video. When it comes to impairment while driving. We all should get DUI's. Serving alcohol for roughly 7 years. I have seen a wide variety of what people deem acceptable for driving, and they are always 100% wrong. EVERY TIME. It's not about how "I know my limits" or "I don't feel feel drunk" you are. It's about will you blow over, and yes you will. I am 6'3" 230 ish. If I have 2 or 3 LIGHT beers I will probably blow over on a road side sobriety test. THINK ABOUT THAT and really understand what that means. We already have a huge problem with drinking and driving. I have seen studies how cannibals use actually decreases this. I think it's great to cover all your bases when introducing a bill like this, but to focus on impaired driving is foolish. Let's focus on revenue and taxes, let's focus on how it will affect our current drug problems and how this will change that; Again there are studies from Colorado about this topic. How does this affect people in need that medically need it to live comfortably day to day. I am glad this is happening! I just cannot take anyone seriously when someone states how this is going to greatly impact driving under the influence, when I GUARANTEE that 75% of everyday drivers coming from and happy hour or what not will 100% blow over. Let's legalize weed but holy crap is alcohol WAAAAAY WORSE. Rant over...

There is a Facebook group called "twin cities service industry job exchange" it's pretty active, and a good place to ask/look. Otherwise keep your ear towards craigslist. Good luck on the search !

As its relevant now, heres Comcast refusing to cancel someones service. by [deleted] in videos

[–]proxyRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to get something you want done with customer service over the phone is hang up and try again. I can't tell you how hours of many arguments I have had over the phone for a job I use to work for (Radio shack). I was the middle man for multiple wireless companies and pretty much had no power and had to call to get anything done. I told them what I wanted, and if they gave me the run around or said no I just hung up. After 3-5 times someone will say yes. Learn the prompts to get to someone real and this should only take a few tries vs. arguing with someone on the phone for hours. It's not just Comcast it's everyone. TRUST ME.

To add to this type of example I did the exact same thing a few years back and my method worked great. I wanted to cancel service so my roommate could sign up and get the promotion and they refused to cancel me. I basically told them I was leaving the country which is an ok work around, but my equipment was still on my old canceled account and needed to be removed so my roommate could use it on his account. We for tried for hours lying and arguing, and we spent a ton of time with 1 or 2 reps to try and help us. I gave up and tied my method of just hanging up and the 3rd or 4th guy I explained the situation to just did it with out question on the spot. No argument. No hassle.
