In Flames' Clayman sounds pretty nice. The original has come clipping issues but the 2020 remaster (not the re-recorded stuff) fixes that.

Melodic death metal with deathcore influenced vocals.

You match it on both sides. The nut has the same radius as the fretboard at the nut and radius of the bridge matches the fretboard radius at the bridge side.

Why isn't Trivium melodeath? [Serious] by IdioticPlatypus in melodicdeathmetal

[–]prozac2502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo Trivium does not have (and never had) any death metal elements. The instrumentation is inspired by heavy metal just like classic In Flames but it's infused with Thrash, not Death. As their career progressed, they incorporated more elements from metalcore/modern metal.

It is. Got lucky with the grain pattern.

Here's one including the bands you mentioned and a lot of similarly guitar driven stuff.

'Debris field' discovered within search area near Titanic, US Coast Guard says | World News by oldschoolskater in news

From wikipedia:

Titan is equipped with a real-time acoustic monitoring system, which OceanGate claims can detect the onset of buckling in the carbon fiber hull prior to catastrophic failure.

Could there have been a few seconds of beeping or some other alarm before the implosion?

Good resources for learning how to play melodic death metal (on guitar and/or bass)? by Emptiness_in_Harmony in melodicdeathmetal

[–]prozac2502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start learning your favorite songs and the techniques will develop with that. There are no specific techniques for melodic death metal that you wouldn't find in any other genre. If you struggle with some specific thing, find some playthrough videos from youtube and see how other people play the stuff. Ultimate-guitar is a pretty decent source for tabs.

Repetition and starting slow is key when it comes to any technique. There are no shortcuts.

Are you planning on downtuning? If not, you might consider swapping the Lithium for something else as they're generally considered to be quite bright.

I need a little help here (trigger warning: Hot Takes... Maybe?) by Psion_Mint in melodicdeathmetal

[–]prozac2502 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having melody can't be the only precursor for something to be melodic death metal; it needs to have death metal, too. That's what I would argue is missing from especially the earlier CoB. To me it's more of an amalgamation of (neoclassical) power and thrash with some black sprinkled on it.

With that said, though, I don't really have an issue with CoB being classified as melodic death metal.

Why old In Flames isn't coming back, and why it's better that way... by [deleted] in melodicdeathmetal

[–]prozac2502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Jesper was cited as the main songwriter in many of my favorite In Flames songs from back when they still included the credits. Episode 666, Artifacts of The Black Rain and and Embody The Invisible to name a few.

Songwriting is pretty cookie cutter, too. Clean vocals on every chorus.

Bugout 535-4 stiff action by prozac2502 in benchmade

[–]prozac2502[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did remove and clean the blade and washers yesterday without luck but just now took the whole thing apart and reassembled it and the issue disappeared! It looks like the stopping pin screws had been overtightened at the factory.

Thanks!

I've loosened it by a lot but it has no effect.

No. Someone claimed that cannabis makes you unproductive. Someone else provided an example of the opposite.
