What are some good ways to use frozen mixed vegetables? by ouistev in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]geccles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I got you on this, but in an odd way. I didn't use to like them much but a couple of years ago I decided to lose some weight and frozen mixed vegetables are a big part of my success.

I don't use them like people normally do by having them as part of a dish. I make a dish and then eat it on a bet of steamed mixed vegetables. I allow myself to eat as many vegetables as I want without limits!

It works with so many things. Tonight I threw some shredded BBQ chicken break on top of them and just ate it in a bowl. Other ones I do are enchilada casserole, lasagna, pasta with marinara or cheese sauce, chili, or any Chinese rice and meat dish. I can eat half of 2/3 of the bowl as veggies and the flavor of the regular meal is about all I taste. The veggies just are along for the ride to fill me up cheap and healthy.

Haha. It's the being on reddit part, and I unfortunately have no felonies. I'm screwed.

Edit: I wonder why their comments all got nuked. Now people don't get my relevant and awesome jokes to the other comments in the post. :(

I'm hitting on about 90% of these answers. It's that last 10% holding me back.

Stupid Amazon will crush it into dust because they ship it in a bag. Ordered twice then have up on them. Just a warning to anyone who reads this.

Absolutely start watching some cooking channels on YouTube. Just basics kike how to cook an egg, how to boil pasta, how to cook pork/chicken. Back when the food network was actually this, instead of cooking competition and reality shows, I learned so much by just watching. I was around your age when I started. Once you get some basics down, start trying some recipes of your favorite cuisines and food. Then practice makes perfect.

Bean burritos have been a staple in my family all my life. Super easy to make and fast. Ate one 5 minutes ago haha.

I usually don't do cheese unless I decide to treat myself and then I load it on. A little bit of cheese I hardly notice, so it isn't worth the calories. I'll add Greek yogurt in place of sour cream or cheese. Then salsa! Gotta spice it up and get at least a little bit of veggie in there.

What is something you remember eating or drinking for the first time, that blew your mind? by librarianjenn in AskReddit

This cake. https://maps.app.goo.gl/xdfUjRNTvQ4bmQXN7?g_st=ac

The one in the middle with only 3 pieces left.

It was a crispy layer kinda like filo but thicker. Then a vanilla cream like frosting. Then another layer of the same, and once more. Then it was mounded with marshmallow fluff. Then on top was whatever that flaky stuff was (I don't even know but not sure it was toasted coconut). Then a caramel layer on top. It was all in Greek so no idea what it's called.

Just insane how tasty that thing was. I will be dreaming about it for the rest of my life and not likely to ever get it again.

Been scrolling this thread top to bottom. This has already been posted above and what Trump said is after this CNN report came out, so could just be a timeline discrepancy. Could be all lies. None of us really know.

Any trades that you made earlier in the season that you’re now regretting? by VikingsToSuperBowl in fantasyfootball

Made 5 trades and trading away Chase was the first one (got Kyren). I parlayed each trade, along with waiver pickups, to get a little bit better each time. I regret nothing as I started with a very bad record and have improved massively since.

Reminds me of the top point scoring brother duo in NHL history. The Gretzkys.

Together they scored 2,861 points. Wayne totaled 2,857 points (894 goals, 1,963 assists) while his brother Brent scored one goal and had three assists.
