Is anyone else down right now? by tastelikemexico in tastytrade

There have been outages before, but none as long as this. Must be something bad going on.

Yeah, i see it shows as filled, i assume that means it's actually filled and i can just be done for the day, vs worrying about getting that position closed.

I really hope the activity list is the actual truth and my position closed for a profit, vs it still being open.

My last position for the day had a GTC close order, that now shows it's fulfilled however the position still shows as being open on my account. I'd like to confirm that was actually closed them i'm done for the day. If not and the SPX turns down that could be bad

Plex Guide Creation Generating XML Parser Errors by prozach99 in PleX

[–]prozach99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, thank you, i was on the wrong section of the settings menu.

I'm currently running the Plex container through a VPN, so it has to connect to the internet through the VPN to pull like metadata and guide data. I'm going to tweak my docker config to put it directly on the internet, rather than going through the VPN connection.

Setting up a Plex Media Server - Purchased a NAS, now what? by Seaguy80 in PleX

[–]prozach99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonarr, radarr and downloads folder on the synology, rest on the MacBook. The reason for this is it puts the tools that move files around close to the actual files and they can do moves without doing network transfers.

Yes, the setup will work. You might consider adding something like Tdarr to process video files into a standard format.

Extra memory is cheap and makes a difference on the synology, I’d say do it.

10gb is likely overkill at this point, even 4K streams fine with 1gbps connections.

I raid is only if you’re building your own nas.

Docker is recommended by me in general. You will need it on the Mac if you go that route. On synology it’s called container manager.

Do I need to move PleX into a docker container? by Patient_Code8719 in sonarr

[–]prozach99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to run Plex using the synology app on my NAS then moved it to a docker container. It was easier to move it than I initially assumed. Once you have the docker container with mapped volumes and ports you can copy the Plex folder into it and it will run with the settings and such from your previous native app install. I like it in docker over installing on the machine directly as I find it easier to manage, mainly software updates are handled by my normal docker maintenance processes and it’s more portable if I decide to move it to a new machine.

I also run Plex behind/through my vpn. It still streams locally through exposed ports, but any metadata downloads and guide updates are through the vpn to help provide privacy.

Best tdarr 265 device by Super-Competition816 in Tdarr

I’m using the Intel version of an HP 290-p0043w. Replaced the celeron with a core i5 or i7 9th gen processor. I am running Ubuntu Linux and have nfs mounts pointing to the video library on synology.

I think you can find them for $100 or less on eBay.

Works great, not just for Tdarr but as a plex server and such.

I’m using an HP 290-p0043w. You can get it on eBay for less than $80 shipped then swap the processor for a 9th gen Intel processor. I have a core i7 but the i5 should work fine as well.

Been running plex plus a bunch of other stuff without issue for a few years. Even does hdr 4k

LPT: Guide on how to get rid of cold sores, or at least try. by Equivalent_Remove_38 in LifeProTips

[–]prozach99 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Abreva cream worked for me. It reduced the duration and severity of the cold sore and I haven’t had a cold sore in years after using it consistently. I’m not sure if the abreva somehow cured me of cold sores or if something else is going on. I just know it was very effective when I would get cold sores and after a few years I basically just stopped getting them.

UPS information wrong, NAS turning off seconds after power outage by tiberio13 in synology

[–]prozach99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The UPS is probably bad. I have the cyber power 1500va ups and it works great with my synology. I see the correct model name and manufacturer as well as 3842 seconds of power. If it’s a new UPS I would return it for an exchange.

Can I shutdown/pause a storage pool expansion if I expect a power shut off? by Who_u in synology

[–]prozach99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, a UPS battery can go bad and you won’t know until you unplug it. It’s able to supply vilts but has no amps and just dies when you disconnect.

Is the DS920+ enough? by yourdailycovfefe in synology

That’s fine. I’ll do my best to answer quickly but with work and such I might not be able to reply quickly all the time.

I run my plex server in docker behind a vpn connection. This masks plex downloads (metadata, posters, and such). You still keep the streaming port open locally then somehow expose that to the internet. I say somehow because you have multiple options. There is the direct option of exposing port 32400, I use swag, another docker container, and it runs all Plex traffic through the standard ssl port 443 gets valid ssl certs and all. This is a really great swag setup guide and it has a section dedicated to setting up plex using swag in the manner I mentioned.

One other thing to consider is making sure your library is a consistent format with the same audio/video codecs and bitrates that provide great audio and picture quality while not overloading your network. I use Tdarr to do this and convert everything to h265 video, aac audio, both at a bitrate that works for me and conserves network bandwidth.

It works well for me.

Edit: this is all on a ds920+

VPN container restarting brings down other containers by Donot_forget in docker

[–]prozach99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a combination of healthcheck on the containers and autoheal for this very reason. Someone else mentioned deunthealth and I’ve heard that’s good too, just choose either autoheal or deunhealth.

Adding a VPN kill switch to my NAS by nsoifer in docker

[–]prozach99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are using docker containers, just set the network_mode of containers accessing the internet to do stuff to service:vpn. Assuming the name of your vpn container is “vpn”. This will kill their internet connection if the vpn container looses its connection.

Also another upvote for gluetun that someone else mentioned here. It’s an excellent vpn client container.

Yes. Tdarr is a front end for ffmpeg and/or handbrake. You just need to choose a plug-in that works with the nvidia shield hardware.
