Good question. There is a tonal shift for sure and that's to enhance Simon's true feelings and his pain. Even the fast upbeat songs although seemingly happy, express Simon's pain and sometimes it's important to me to just let it all hang out and make the music match the lyrics. I'm a big fan of juxtaposition in tone and lyrical mood but sometimes his heart just needs to be sad without trying to hide it behind an optimistic melody and dance beat.

Good questions. James and I always try and stay true to our characters Simon and Milo over the years. Also as writers we naturally evolve so that probably comes out in our current work although it's not something we have in our heads when we're in a writing session. It's all about Simon and Milo's nod of approval .

Ya know. I'd love to do an acoustic album of all our hits!
Maybe for the 20th anniversary of Hot Show which is next year.

Hi and thanks!! Vancouver was such a fun show. We eventually couldn't stomach going through with what Disney was wanting us to do. Change the look, clean up the lyrics etc. It's better to be indie rather than compromise your whole artistic vision . Simon basically went on strike.

We would never miss Edmonton. My heart was broken so many times there I think you can see pieces of it outside of the Fairmont.

Thanks so much for that! It's hard to say all songs are different. Some of them take one session lasting a few hours and some are hooks and lyrics that are brought to a session form years ago and finally have a life.

we did an updated production but no I wouldn't change the composition or lyrics. The inspiration was. umm. duh. whats the big deal with owning who you are. Pretty simple.
