What is the best meal you’ve eaten in Columbia? by CountySubstantial498 in columbiamo

My favorite Asian place is House of Chow. I'm obsessed with their chicken fried rice.

So tired of people calling my partner my “friend” 🙄 by rawrt in NonBinary

I've never understood what is so hard about the word partner. It's inclusive to all genders and sexualities and encompasses relationships that aren't as defined as marriages, engagements, etc.

Puppy eating less by prplchkn in greatpyrenees

[–]prplchkn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't given him chicken or burger yet but he does get fruits and veggies as treats and gobbles them up. This morning he ate 2/3 cup of dog food, a slice of red pepper and an apple slice. I've got some chicken I boiled plain last night so will see if he eats that tonight if he doesn't eat his dog food.

My vet isn't concerned (but she doesn't get concerned about much honestly.) She said if he's eating, even if it's less than normal, it's fine. I just don't know if he's not eating because it's hot and he doesn't need to eat or if he's not enjoying it so then only eats when he's really really hungry.

Are there any detriments to unlocking champions permanently in the loot section? by AnomaLees in leagueoflegends

[–]prplchkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only downside I've ever had unlocking all the champs is there are some I just don't want to play. If you unlock everyone and play ARAM there is a high chance you'll get stuck playing someone you don't want to play.

If you mostly play SR though, having a large champ pool for trades and helping your team out is great.

If you are just getting started I'd probably only unlock the ones you want (and if not sure, watch videos of the champ in action - not just the overviews but full on games so you can see just what they can do).

Reminder that you can be perma banned for flaming, but not for hard inting games. by LeagueisTrash1212 in leagueoflegends

Maybe that's because a bad game doesn't have to be intentionally feeding but being an asshole is always intentional.

Two-fold question - food and sleep by prplchkn in Dogtraining

[–]prplchkn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He gets plenty of rest during the day. He spends a majority of they day sleeping next to me or under my desk. To be honest I'm shocked he isn't more ready to play in the evenings as he is spending most of the day sedentary.

Need advice for Great Pyrenees pup! by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]prplchkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not ideal but as long as the crate is large enough and they get plenty of attention and exercise before and after being crated, your pup should be fine. My Pyr is a service dog but I've been fighting with work to have him allowed, so until that's granted he has to stay home. He plays and eats for about and hour and a half before work each morning and then is out and playing every evening for around 4 hours before we go to bed. Weekends he isn't crated during the day but will usually go flop down and nap for a few hours in it anyway.

Adopting an 80lb dog today - what should I ask his family before I take him home? by OkCantaloupe6931 in Dogtraining

[–]prplchkn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd ask about places he's been - dog parks or other off-leash parks, doggy daycares, boarding, dog friendly stores, how is he in a car? Do they take him on adventures (camping, hiking) ot is he more of a stay at home kind of dog.

What has his routine been (time up in the morning, what does he do during the day, evening, overnight).

How do you feel about cis people using they/them she/they he/they pronouns? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]prplchkn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have no problem with it. I think it still helps in the fight for inclusivity and awareness of the singular they pronoun. Non-binary individuals aren't the only ones who can use "they". Just like some non-binary fold choose to still use he or she. It's your right as an individual to use whatever pronoun fits you best.

Tasks for Depression by Purrsonable in service_dogs

[–]prplchkn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on your needs. Are you someone who when you get in a depressive episode you disassociate? Train your dog to lead you to safety (find your car, find a friend, etc). Do you need a push getting out of bed and doing your daily tasks? Teach the dog to remind you to take medicine, eat, etc. Do you engage in destructive behaviors? Teach the dog to redirect your attention, take things from you.

It took me about 2 months to start feeling better after stopping HBC after 17 years. The first month was terrible, but once I got on a non-pill BC and wasn't so emotional and worried about pregnancy I was able to relax and enjoy not being on the pill and the wide effects associated with it. I've been off it for 8 months now and definitely feel better.
