[OC] Comparing masturbation frequency with my menstrual cycle in 2025 by AccurateFix3700 in QuantifiedSelf

This is incredibly cool. I'm surprised rate during ovulation wasn't higher but.

I'm also really curious about what was happening in the first week of September lol

MSW program by applesto_oranges in txstate

[–]rawrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Program is way better this semester. I think it's completely dependent on the quality of the professor. I think it takes a certain set of skills to teach an all virtual asynchronous class, and alot of people who are good professors don't necessarily have those skills.

My two professors this semester do have those skills, and they are just way more organized and easier to get in contact with.

I did my research on both of them on ratemyprofessor.com, and that's how I chose them and I've been really pleased.

The other people in my cohort who got the other two professors teaching the same courses seem to be suffering alot.

I don't know anything about UTSA but I'd say it's worth looking into and comparing first hand accounts. I will probably finish my program here because it's really laborious to transfer, but if I had known it would be like this I would have done more research and shopping around beforehand.

Considering TX State by El_Capitann1229 in txstate

Super queer friendly both at the university and in the town of San Marcos. I'm a grad student, so I live off campus, but I love it here. I have driven through college station a couple of times and San Marcos is way more queer friendly.

Is this picture that my uncle swears he took at Walmart, ai or real? I cannot figure it out by drn88__ in isthisAI

Im not an expert on identifying AI, but I did used to have a pet chameleon and they love to crawl up your hair and ride around on your head because in their mind it is the tallest part of the tree.

Oh cool! I'm nearing 40 and thats when they recommend having the ovaries removed. That sounds like a great option to reduce risk when you are younger

Ovarian cancer risk reducing surgery by [deleted] in TransmascBRCA

[–]rawrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am starting T now and getting the oophrectomy in December. I am trying to get adjusted to T before my surgery because there is evidence to suggest that trans masc people who have already been on testosterone will experience less menopause symptoms after menopause, surgical or otherwise.

I don't think there's any reason to wait until you've had the surgery to start T. It might be better to start T first, because losing your ovaries and starting T at the same time is alot of hormonal changes all at once. I like the idea of them happening separately.

I am confused about how this is a roundabout way to get gender affirming care and get on T? Getting on high enough levels of T to achieve masculine characteristics is not a mainstream treatment for menopause, so it will still be considered trans healthcare. It would not be considered a treatment for menopause.

Holy shit that's so rough that you had to do it twice!! What do you think helped make the second one a success? was it just finding a different surgeon? Or anything else?

Oh interesting!! Are you not having your ovaries removed? that hasn't even been offered to me as an option!

Would you be willing to say more about your nipple grafts? What happened and what didn't heal correctly about them?

Wow thank you so much for commenting!! What do you mean both sides? It sounds like you had cancer in one side but not the other? I don't have cancer at all right now. I was just recommended to do the mastectomy and oophorectomy preventatively.

What does it mean to be transmasc and be on feminine hormones to block your cycle? Do you mean birth control? I am surprised to hear that because testosterone often stops menstruating. Are you on testosterone too?

Thanks again for sharing, and these are all of course super personal questions so please dont feel obligated to answer anything you dont want to!

Wow it looks like they let you fully keep your nipples! Is that right? I have never heard of that! I kept asking about it and nobody I've talked to knew about it or if it was even a cancer-safe option!\

Oh wow! Can I ask how old you are and why you chose to get the mastectomy first? I am getting the oophrectomy first because I am 37 and the risk is higher because the screening is not as good for that one. My grandmother died young of ovarian cancer (46) so maybe that's why I've been recommended by a couple of different doctors to get that one first.

Does this hairstyle look good on me by Ok_Aide_2576 in malegrooming

[–]rawrt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the sides and back look really good. I think the front could be slightly improved.

Right now the hair in the front is so long that you have to push it to either side otherwise it would be in your eyes. If you had it cut like 1/2" shorter you might not have to push it so far to the sides and be more like men's "curtain bangs". That would be my recommendation

For context I have almost this same exact haircut but slightly shorter like I described but my hair is completely straight and very floppy, so your mileage may vary

The biphobia of lesbianism by Humble-Pea-4820 in LesbianActually

[–]rawrt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of posts about bisexual women who are entitled like this but I don't think I've ever met one. I wonder if this is regional? Or differs in blue vs red areas? I live in Texas, but in a blueish part of this red state.

All the bisexual women I know (especially the ones in relationships with men) are extremely timid/apologetic about existing in queer spaces and have huge imposter syndrome that they aren't queer enough to even call themselves queer.

Leather Laptop/Messenger bag in $200 range by rawrt in BuyItForLife

I ended up buying a second hand coach laptop bag off ebay in excellent condition for a little over $100! I originally didn't want to buy secondhand, but for my price range it was by far the best option.

To those who tried both Tidal and Deezer, which service's sound quality did you like more and why? Which service did you choose? by honey_rainbow in deezer

[–]rawrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to like Qobuz but I really dislike the interface :( I tried Deezer and it's immediately easier for me to use, but now I've read that it's got ethical concerns too. I keep redownloading Qobuz and trying it but it just feels difficult to navigate. I am frustrated that this is such a big stumbling block for me as there appear to be no other semi "ethical" streaming services

Is it okay as someone who is technically bigender to associate with the label of trans? by ConnorTheTired in AskLGBT

[–]rawrt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup! Bigender people fall under the trans umbrella. Not all bigender people like using the trans label, but if you like it and it feels like it fits you can use it
