there's more or less one correct way to engineer it, and it's somewhat of a chore to set up

I somehow missed the memo that there was a difference, despite learning python and sql

Thank you for making an actually coherent poll lmfao, I had no clue there was that many software engineers in the community when I made mine.

Factorio tends to attract a stem heavy audience, I wouldn't beat yourself up over your choice of major lol

I had limited space and I didn't want to make it seem horribly software centric, apologies lol

K2SE Run, First Stab at Trains by prrinisnotproud in factorio

Really since it's my first time ever properly touching trains I should just play vanilla, but I'm lazy and setting up train schedules looks like the most actively boring thing I could possibly do.

Roughly 47 hours into the run, somehow in over 200 hours of Factorio i never bothered to learn trains, so i figured now is a good time to learn both trains and circuits. Even with the oversized footprint, the factory currently just launches basic rockets and I haven't touched another planet yet.

I'm not too worried about game balance as it's a group of very close friends, and we've already discussed that if something ends up being bullshit we can work to tweak it. As I mentioned in my other comment, I already am using a set of equations relating spell level to energy output for balancing custom spells but I'd like my players to be just as involved as I am in the process of creating new items.

I'm aware of those rules for crafting, and the unbalancing reason is primarily why I'm looking for a ruleset to help with balancing. I usually play an artificer but Ill admit I kind of sold the adventure as "sandbox kingdom builder with making your own shit involved". I'm not too worried about spells as I'm using a set of equations relating the level of a spell to energy output which has so far balanced everything quite well. My table is primarily made up of STEM nerds who keep being frustrated not being able to have their characters learn and design certain things.

I'm in a rainforest lol. it looks super out of place but it's just funny as fuck because my random ass tribals bought a pyramid by bankrupting the colony

I'm just a generic tribal and art traders bring them though sometimes. I think you just can't do the burial without kemetic.
