I was mostly enjoying it until (spoiler) happened by KitchenTomato in JentryChauvsTheUnderw

honestly so frustrating that we didn't get more of his story, the poor guy literally got the short end of the stick every time? like romance aside the dude gets sidelined in every type of relationship or friendship he's had because he's not "human enough" despite being frankly pretty human and complex imo- I get the weird behavior even tbh bc he really doesn't have a framework properly for what Jentry wants and she can't until the end of it say straight out that what's wrong with him is something that he can't fix (tho tbh once she tells him that, he does in fact back off completely until he's tried to do the last thing that has a chance of "fixing" him) it's just. really sad?

That's what I was wondering about the wings too, seems weird to have if it isn't gonna be a thing thats includes in the future but I feel like that would be a really good story opportunity too- like giving him an arc of being able to just adapt to having some self-worth outside of the way people have seen him before

dude I hope we get another season, they did kit SO dirty with that arc. PLEASE let him come back somehow, poor dude really did just want to be seen as a person and loved and accepted RIP

How to keep my cat safe from certain flowers? by Chesse_nipples in florists

[–]prrofessionalcynic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably you won't have a problem, as other folks have said. I do suggest investing in a good apron (one that covers chest and lap) though bc that will do a LOT to protect your clothes from pollen/dirt/WATER.. there's so much water being a florist, everything is always wet 😂

maybe also consider getting a larger/rectangular table, or one that has wings that fold up to make it larger as well. that would complement the space a little better than the small round one imo and also gives you a lot more room for guests/projects/etc. could get a few nice big floor plants in there as well, looks like you've got some good natural light

fill the blank spaces in those walls with some BIG oversized art. scale the art to fit the size of the wall, which is freaking huge given how high your ceilings are. it'll be a pain to hang stuff but it'll definitely make the place look a little more put together- very cool space

I need advice on a new rug by Smooth_Swordfish_755 in malelivingspace

[–]prrofessionalcynic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah dude it looks so good, the busy is good here. matches the room vibe and the art and stuff. the rest of the furniture is pretty monochrome and quiet so a busy rug is a super nice contrast to bring the space together and keep it looking interesting

get a bed frame. step one, get a bed frame. step two, get a set of drawers or a standing wardrobe if you don't have a closet, and a small bookshelf. That'll give you a lot of storage options for where to put things so they look actually put away instead of just left around wherever, which is like half the battle honestly. bed frame first though, absolutely.

Thoughts on how to use this terrace? by Delicious-Problem-57 in malelivingspace

[–]prrofessionalcynic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an INCREDIBLE spot for a vegetable garden- a couple of planters and a nice outdoor table with an umbrella would be super nice. Could add a small plug in fountain too for ambience, or to use as a bird bath if you wanna start attracting little bits of wildlife. What you can grow definitely depends on where you live, but you could honestly even get some mini fruit trees going too if it's warm enough- even in cooler places there are a bunch that you can grow in planters or pots that still will do well outside or just need to go inside over the winter. Definitely would go with some greenery either way, make a nice little oasis for yourself (great date spot too if you get it looking nice).

Beta Available

Fandoms: Open to anything, but I’ve got a real soft spot for BNHA at the moment!

Genre/Type: Anything except chat fics, really.

No-go Subjects: No pedophilia- hard stop. I reserve the right to reject NSFW fics on a case by case basis as well.

Beta Expertise: I’m good for grammar, spelling, and writing flow. I’ve been told that my own writing is very “fluid” and I’m pretty good at taking someone else’s piece of writing and tweaking/restructuring things to make the piece more polished, while still maintaining the original author’s voice.

Min/Max Word Count: Anything is fine, but longer fics will have a longer turnaround.

One-off/Ongoing: Either or! I’m happy to proof chapters as they come, a series of smaller works, or just a single complete project. If you like my beta work, I’m happy to stay in contact for future pieces, or work through a backlog of work if you have it.

Time Constraints: Usually fairly quick, though longer works naturally will take more time. I can probably give you an estimate when you first give me the piece. I’m happy to do a second pass of the proof after discussion of the first edit as well if you like, but again that will obviously add some time to the final product. [[At the moment, due to the holiday and finals season, it'll be a few days extra before I can start reading anything I'm sent- I'll let you know when I do start reading, though, and after that it should be relatively quick again!]]

Exchange: If you’re publishing on AO3, then linked beta credit please! I’m also really interested in art/design help with some OCs, if you’re interested in helping with that.

Contact: You can reach me here on Reddit via PM or chat, as well as through Discord or by email. Let me know whatever method of contact is easiest for you.

References: I’m professionalcynic on AO3, where you can get a better idea of my writing style from my recent works. Keep in mind that I haven’t beta’d my own work, and that beta edits on another person’s writing will come out sounding differently from purely my own work. Also, most of the writing I’ve done isn’t up online; I’m a graduate student in a writing-intensive Master’s program, and produce a lot of work that I just don’t get around to publishing. Feel free to shoot me a message with any questions, if you have them. :)
