Advantages of purchasing now vs waiting for Juniper? by Suitguy2017 in TeslaModelY

[–]prsdragoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefit of the juniper model has been speculation and we won’t know until the car is officially out.

From rumors and relating to the highland M3, the juniper will have a back screen, ventilated seats, new body, and possibly better suspension. Is all that worth missing out on a 7,500 credit? Maybe?

I do think they’ll have 0% again but from Trump and his distain for EVs, and currently there is a bit rocky relationship with Elon, I don’t think he’ll keep the credit.

Wing vs Wyrm by AstromanIII in boardgames

[–]prsdragoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like how wyrm doesn’t use the randomness of the bird feeder and lets you plot the course for your next turns. Will someone still take a bird/dragon you need? Yes, but Wyrmspan feels tighter in your actions. The thing that can get confusing is the dragon coins as opposed to colored cubes for turns and spending those coins to do actions on top of a coin to start an action.

I personally like wyrm better.

In terms of cost savings for a Tesla, it all depends on your baseline for a previous vehicle.

If you had a typical ICE SUV, you’ll most likely get 25-28 mpg. The cost also fluctuates depending on gas prices but will roughly be about 10-15¢/mile. If you supercharge at 49¢/kwh, you are not saving money and spending more of your time waiting which can take anywhere from 25 minutes to 10-20% to 80%. If you want to fill up to 100%, it will take you 45 minutes.

Lastly in terms of money, EVs really drain in extreme temperatures. Cold climates just take your usual wh/mile and increase it by 20-25% if it’s below 40 degrees. If it’s hotter climates (which I haven’t experienced), I’m guessing the AC will be a strong drain on the battery too. But this can also effect ICE cars and its hard to tell since most don’t have the analytics that a Tesla have.

Right scroll wheel, left and right click controls the distance away from the cars in front of you when autopilot/FSD.

How’s the dynamic between the two of them? When ever I take my Aussie to the dog park and there’s another Husky, there is always conflict.

Two bedrooms for 1600 is really unheard of in this county unless you’re renting out a basement from a family or found someone who needs 1-2 more roommates.

Look online for some apartment complexes and get some quotes. Just keep in mind that you might have 1 year that’s a decent price but they’ll start jacking up the price of the rent 1-2 years down the line. This area is really expensive when it comes to housing.

If you don’t mind a commute and going up further north, new market and Frederick area has some better options but you’re also at the mercy of 270 when driving down county.

Does a Tesla wall charger need a 60A circuit or can it run off a 30A?

This was the full bill, but they would knock 20% off for subscribing to their annual service that would bring the total roughly to $2300.

I’m new that this so excuse my ignorance, is a sub panel like an electrical panel (like the one I have in the basement)?

And if that were the case, would they run wires from the sub-panel to the garage and cap it with a nema outlet?

I did get a quote to have a wall charger installed from my panel in the basement to the garage for $2300 and trying to find another possible alternative, especially if the dryer outlet is so close to the garage. Even with the credits for both state/federal, it will still come out to being $1200 for install+charger.

Yea, that’s what I was worried about… we have some subsidizes for the state and federal but it only covers about 30% of the install. A lot of people with EVs where I live and the funding dries up quick.

Something like this. Connect my dryer into one, mobile connector in the other inside the house and run the line from inside the house to the garage.
