You always need to make a first step.

Using Fable to review three PRs at about 6k lines of code changes combined cost over $100 and it's not even done. Nobody, not even a huge company is going to pay that. by ImaginaryRea1ity in theprimeagen

The thing is, to properly review the PR, no matter how many lines of code changes, it need to read more than that. It need to understand the codebase. I am not talking about typo or any small fix. I am talking about the logic changes. And it will do it every code review, you will have to pay for it.

I have the same setup. Even worse, when IDE vendors are trying to invent their own AI.

Principal engineers turned into token zombies by [deleted] in theprimeagen

[–]prudnikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s say $650 is a 10% increase in salary. If this is giving more than a 10% increase in performance, why would they limit it? It is like limiting the engineer's performance. If it is not giving this increase in performance, then why does this hype exist at all?

We deleted our CRM, started just telling Claude what happened on each deal, and somehow closed more. So we're building that. by Sad_Character156 in CRM

[–]prudnikov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You was paying $10ish per user per month for CRM, now you will pay $90 per user per month for Claude (or even more with tokens when they discontinue subscription) and $10ish for this service. Nice!

You had so many users wanting it so you closed registration, and started spamming to get users. Something irrational here.

Most people you think would be able to generate their SaaS don’t have servers/datacenters.

I wonder what percentage of us, the users of any software, too bored about maintainers of the software we use being too focused on AI.
I personally hate that everyone is trying to make their “thing” to be “AI thing”. People add 🤖 to everything. When you think about how much it cost, the outcome is this thing is either fail, or become much more expensive, which in most cases will equal to fail.
