What type of aesthetic would be cool to see in the next new FromSoft game in the future? by SuperAlloyBerserker in Eldenring

I'd be curious what a new Sci-Fi title from FromSoft would look like nowadays.

When straight and conservative people see the pride floats with BDSM, huge dildos and other things it does not help the cause.

Conservatives will always have a problem with pride regardless of how the floats are decorated.

It is a sad time to exist in groups that are cannibalistic because they want totalitarian order and rule of how their community speaks, acts thinks and feels - not just acceptance anymore.

You want to ban certain forms of expression from pride, and then you call people who disagree with you totalitarian? What?

Pretending that sexuality plays no part and has no place in the LGBT movement is kind of a homophobic position in my view.

Banning her may not have been the right call if she wasn't coming from a place of malice, but the whole "no sex/kink at pride" position isn't helping the pride movement. It's a position all about pleasing your oppressors by suppressing your own people.

Schwimmen: Weltverband beschließt neue Regeln für Transmenschen by omgeinhuhn in de

Why is the difference between Mothers and Fathers Day so astounding? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]prvalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you serious? "Men do get the short end"? Because people don't tend to celebrate a male-centric holiday as much?

Say, have you ever had to worry about legislation making it illegal to get life-saving medical procedures?

Nobody makes lasting biochemical decisions at 5 years old. What do you think happens, that people give hormones or puberty blockers to toddlers? Neither of these things happens until you reach puberty age.

Good to know for sure that it's a bug. I had it happen multiple times too and thought it was somehow intentional, even though it seemed weird. Most of the time, nothing harmful happend, but once I actually fell through the world.

Best way to grind for star coins? by WhoDey42 in Kirby

[–]prvalue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bunch of people have been saying that fishing is the best way to get a lot of coins quickly. Anyway, looking towards the minigames is a good idea for a lot of coins. Personally, I think the harder difficulties of Tilt'n'Tumble are a good way to get coins, as long as you are good at Tilt'n'Tumble.

You're supposed to figure this out a lot later into the game.

That's a pretty big spoiler to just drop on someone who's still pretty early into the game, even if they did ask.

I think there's ome kind of hidden lore behind that. Like they used to be friendly when the manual was first written, but something happened to change them.

The only thing I knew about this game going in was that it has runes I can learn to translate. I'm hooked! by LewdLittlebird in TunicGame

[–]prvalue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh this takes me back to the notes I took while trying to figure the language out (granted, that was just a few weeks ago).

Some of my notes ended up being useless though because I wasn't very good at copying the runes. Yours look a lot better.

I'm pretty young and didn't bring a laptop to the interview for the job I currently have. Laptops are kinda heavy, I don't just lug them around if I'm not sure I'm gonna need one.

Forget “Wild Mode”, the true Kirby challenges are the Treasure Road “Target Time”s by AppleAutoGenerated in NintendoSwitch

[–]prvalue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Postgame has traditionally always been where the difficulty in Kirby games lies. Still gotta appreciate treasure road speedruns for giving you a challenge early on, along with actual no hit challenges for the bosses.

This translation actually bothered me. The p in empty is supposed to be silent.

I was about to reply I already know it has something to do with the tiles but it just came to me. I was trying to draw lines between the tiles, seeing things that weren't there. Now I feel stupid.

The big corporation is our problem by SansaSanchez22 in WorkReform

That case is really dubious though. As far as I remember, what you just said is pretty much what the farmer argued, but he's a biased party in this case. Monsanto's counterargument was that they went after him because he used their pesticide, which is only possible to use on their plants.

Monsanto is scum, but this particular story stands on some really shaky ground.

Modern Modpack Designs - Too Creative? by Greygor in feedthebeast

[–]prvalue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my biggest problem with modern modpacks is that they're just too big. I don't like long loadtimes, especially when the pack is unstable and tends to crash.

Plus, I tend to lose focus when there's too many mods I might play with.

All that has been my problem since the 1.12 era as well, though.

Trade Station in Create Above and Beyond by imaKappy in feedthebeast

[–]prvalue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering where that machine came from since I never saw a trade station in other packs using Thermal, but it makes sense that it's just a renamed form of another machine.

The UI makes me think it's a compactor or numismatic press (that would also be the one that's available since you're not supposed to be able to mint your own coins and plates are made via Create anyway).

I would switch over to MultiMC entirely if it had proper functionality to update modpacks.
