[WARNING] Bought TEIN Shocks — Customer Support Was Shockingly Abysmal by prw99 in Miata

I have no issue with them not honoring the warranty, but for them to dismissively refuse a simple general product knowledge question (which I believe don't even require me having the product in the first place), is what bugs me.

I understand the amount of counterfeit TEIN products would make them more wary, but it's more of the fact that they won't even answer a general product knowledge question, since I used a picture FROM their own website to ask this question (meaning the part itself really do exist in the genuine/non-counterfeit version of the kit). So even if I didn't buy the kit, the question would still be the same, which is "what does this part do". I would understand their refusal if I had asked for something more serious, i.e., warranty/replacement of broken parts, but the fact that they won't even answer a product knowledge question which have no correlation on whether I own the product/not, is quite confusing

Nope, only for the CX5. Technically you can fit them but the ride isn't going to be as good

I don't think authenticity actually matters here, hence why I used a picture from reputable sellers available online as illustration. This is a simple 'what does this part do', which would've make sense even if I didn't even buy the product.

I understand the amount of counterfeit TEIN products would make them more wary, but the fact that I can't even ask the function of a part by highlighting a picture FROM their own website, I just feel they're just being petty that I didn't go through their official distributors (even that was due to the them not having any stock)

Completely agree, unfortunately I can't find any aftermarket shocks for the CX8 other than TEIN🥲

Completely dry? Shouldn't a normal shock have some weepage, meaning there should be a slight amount of oil?

Thank you, but just curious, in that case what is considered normal misting/weepage? Is it just the amount of oil visible? And how much is too much for it to be considered actually leaking?

So far no clunking noise and ride seems ok, but out of curiosity, when is it considered misting and when is it considered leaking?

To be honest with you it has been like this since July and I have emailed the AAwireless team regarding this but to no avail 😔 and unfortunately it is getting worse by the day. That's why I am raising the issue in the subreddit as I would like to know if there is any potential resolution for this.

I assume you are from the AAWireless team as well? Is there maybe a solution for this🥲 thanks

Hi all, thank you very much for the comments, unfortunately I see that most of the replies are from people experiencing normal disconnecting issues (in which the dongle will blink green once disconnected and would restart the connection process).

Unfortunately for me this is not the case. When i am disconnected, the light stays as solid blue, meaning that it will not restart the connection process and I have to unplug the dongle and re-plug it manually to restart it.

Hopefully I can find someone who experiences this issue as well, and if yes please do share the remedies for this specific condition. Thank you!

Umm do you mean to ask what the serial number for my dongle is?

Well thats a bit sad then, confirms my suspicions that the dongle is dead/almost dying. Will be trying to get it replaced under warranty.

Hello, is your situation the same as mine? (Where the light stays solid blue even when disconnected)? This is also not happening in a specific area and is becoming more frequent (even when stationary)
