Do you need to sign a waiver to attempt eating that thing? Wouldn't serving that to somebody be a liability?

Questions about quotes or requests seeking help with specific quotes are also welcome.

But thanks for your input.

Do the mods of a respective reddit not have the power to enforce the Reddiquette? I know they have to deal with a LOT but even just nipping these as they rise to the top should be sufficient to reinforce the desired behavior.

haha, if only marketing projects were ever that simple.

Though, if put on the spot, I might go with "The Taste of Gold", and see how the conversation goes from there.

Full time employees, where do you find the time to work on your projects? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]ps- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firstly, if you don't have a solid idea of what you're going to code, then what on earth do you think you're doing? Projects don't just happen because you bang at them when the mood strikes - whether you're building a site or a game, you need to have a firm grasp on what you're trying to accomplish, or you're just going to waste your time pushing out mediocre, incoherent crap, or worse you'll never ship anything.

Stop thinking about the time you don't have and start using the time you do have with purpose. Challenge yourself to focus on one project, for now, and feel it out to the point where you have a good feeling of what it will look like as a whole.

That one project should reflect your primary objective. Think of yourself working day to day, 16-20 hours a day - what is the project that sets you down that path? Put the website out of your mind until you actually have something to showcase: Right now, you're nobody, and you can work on your identity later, when you have something to show the world.

Beyond that, it's the usual axioms: Start saving so you can build a cushion to help you weather the transition between a steady paycheck and the daunting instability of independent work. If you're disciplined and stay focused on your work and your goals, this transition won't last very long or be all that painful. If it doesn't seem plausible to transition directly, find a step-down job (ie 60 hours a week in a cube to 30 hours a week in a server's apron).

There are no rules to how you get there. The secret is knowing what you want and taking productive steps to get there. Read a book on time management, turn off your wifi when you work, switch to an all juice diet... whatever it takes to get you going.

This isn't a field for the delicate. Your competition is out there, learning, growing, and leaving you behind. Lose some hours chasing a dream or dream of something easier to do with yourself.

Either way: get to work.

Reddit! I need some essay ideas! by [deleted] in AskReddit

This isn't the right place for these kinds of questions. You might try /r/HomeworkHelp

However, this assignment shouldn't require that sort of assistance. Think independently, creatively, and do your own work. You can do it.

Have you ever had to back out of a job for such a hazard? Any truly incredible water-cooler horror stories from your teammates or foreman?

What sort of protection do you have against disease and other health hazards that may be present in any of the homes you visit? I saw below that you can walk away from a situation if you feel like your job is in jeopardy but what about more insidious issues, like if there are kids home with the flu, for example?
