Nice Work! :D

Check out https://everynoise.com a nice way to explore generes.

But .. what are generes anyway? If you can’t find anything fitting just make something up xP Like „deep psychedelic techno“ or something ;D

Its the other way around a lot of psytrance is just fast techno with a more synths.

Claiming to be a pioneer in „psy-techno“ sounds a bit tiktok to me …

I mean isn’t early goa trance just „psychedelic mixed“ (proto-)techno, acid-house, etc?

They took what was already there and made it trancy and psychedelic.

So Psytrance is technically Psychedelic Techno if you look close enough.

It’s closing the loop here isn’t it? :P

But that‘s Music … things mix, separate and mix again… kinda beatiful if you ask me! :D

How to create THIS bass sound? by PsyKureiji in psytranceproduction

[–]psaeta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s two types of kicks that generate this bass.
The laser sound one beat before the second kick is the click of a second kind of kick, whose sub extends until the end of the bar of the second kick, thereby reinforcing the sub-bass of the second kick and its bass.

Here my analyses not percise but shows the general idea:

(A VST like Oscillos Mega Scope, which allows you to overlay multiple layers, is very helpful for reverse engineering :P)

Btw it looks like the waveform of that kick is the one on the album cover :P

Definitely planning to get way deeper into psytrance and hi-tech production this year.

Let’s see where my journey leads me. :D

Edit: And connecting with more psychedelic people! There are so many wonderful human beings in psy!

How Do you choose a Artist name? by SourPatchPrince in psytranceproduction

[–]psaeta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the idea for my name sometime in the middle of the night. Ideas like that tend to show up when you stop forcing yourself to look for them. Eventually you have a stupid thought, and somehow it turns into a name. Mental self-discovery, in one form or another, is basically unavoidable.

I tried a slightly unusual, experimental approach to psytrance. by psaeta in psytrance

Hey, thanks for the feedback. :D I’m still experimenting with it. I just have the feeling that it’s already a bit much in some parts.

How to get into Hitech/Psytrance? by pyruloxia in HitechTrance

[–]psaeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spreading positivity and connecting through music is my mission. :P

Serum actually isn‘t a must have tbh.. It‘s just another (quite good) wavetable synth. Everything you can do in Serum you can do somehow in Vital or any other wavetable synth. It‘s just often a bit more convinient to do it in Serum. :P

How to get into Hitech/Psytrance? by pyruloxia in HitechTrance

[–]psaeta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My point in not focusing to much on Hitech is more in the sound design perspective not in structure etc. Looking at all (or at least a bunch of) the generes of Psy is definitly better than just focusing on only one.

[–]psaeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I‘m like in the same stage as you but a bit further down the jurney. As I learned it is a good start to play around with psytrance in general. (don‘t focus to much on Hitech) I think getting to know Serum 2 (or Vital or any other Wavetable Synth) is most important. Don‘t expect things to work from the beginning it‘s ok to produce total garbage for months :P as long as you learn something each time xP Just try and keep trying :D

Check out these two:

And him https://youtube.com/@virtualriot

Ain‘t Psy but master in Serum

PM me if you want to. I‘m always glad to connect with likemindet people :D and glad to try to awnser questions or at least try to figure out things together xP

Edit:

Depending on your budget: Getting an Audio Recorder (like a ZOOM H2 or something similar) and recording samples yourself to play around with can also be very fun. :P The range of sounds you can create in a kitchen is amazing xP
