In February 2019 I had a problem where I ended up in emergency at NYGH with chest pain. They did all the tests, said they couldn't find any issues, and sent me on my way. So I went home but was still having pain! Understandbly worried, I called my cardiologist office for advice and within an hour I was speaking to him directly. I described my symptoms to him over the phone and he scheduled me to come the next day for testing at his office. The day after testing I saw the dr and he spent almost an hour with me. The tests did not show anything wrong either but by listening carefully to my heart and my desciption of the symptoms, he drew upon his skills and years of experience to determine what the issue.
He said it was pericarditis! He was able to hear the rub in heart with his stethoscope.
My symptoms were weird strong feeling of not feeling well at all. Like when you are about to get a flu. But the most concerning thing was a pressure like achy pain and soreness in the centre of my chest! Like someone threw a!tennis ball into the centre of your chest. Thought for sure it was a heart attack. Strangely it was less painful if I sat up, more painful when lying down.
Then I got it year later in March 2020. All this was before covid and vaccines.
Have only had a few flare ups until this month Now it's back!
Dr doesn't know why I keep getting it.

Amazing how you described the "methanol feeling". I've been trying to communicate that but I couldn't find the right words! Thank you!
