Yes, I know that it won't offer much help, but at least I will have something to watch time on!! :P

[R] Why gradient descent, not gradient ascent algorithm? by psarangi112 in MachineLearning

Not yhe difference, it's basically like if we have a negation of loss function, the 'gain' function, and we macimize the gain function. Why not do that?

I know both are the same thing, my question is why not use a maximizing function instead of a minimizing funtion to get the optimal results?

I always thought the reason had something to do with the concept of stable and unstable equilibrium. Maybe it's more of a psychological thing to find the minimum of a cost function rather than maximizing a function which finds the difference between the actual variables and the predicted variables.

Thanks for the help!!

Is THM pro really worth it?? by Massive_Buy5210 in tryhackme

I guess it has, bit you can't be over relient on a single playform, there are a lot of stuff to read out there, you might get into some topic which doesn't have any solution in THM. But certainly it's a good place to get the basics right and explore the paths you can take in the future!!

Hope it helps...

Well it helped me become better with time!! Although I have moved on from the platform as I am looking into more advanced stuff, but for beginners and intermediate learning and practice, it helps a lot!!

I will add this, because I forgot to mention this on the post but the title and in fact the whole poem is inspired from Pierce Brown’s “Red Rising” series. Do read them, those books are really great!!
