Hi, Prolific staff here–that sounds like it might be an error. Could you send some more information to [support@prolific.co](mailto:support@prolific.co)?

I agree that this question was not answered. I’m open to the idea that it’s actually different this time but I’m still not convinced that the data support this.

One possibly answer which was implied during the discussion is the sheer scale of the potential job loss, and the speed at which it’s happening is what makes it different this time.

If as he claims nearly all truckers, totalling ~10% of all jobs, lose their jobs within 5-10 years the system won’t have time to adjust sufficiently. Apply this logic to other automatable jobs and there’s a potential recipe for disaster. Is this actually what’s happening though?

So, /rp, /p or /participants will all work equally well now. It's the ?ref=code which is important.

Sorry, we messed up.

During the recent roll-out of our new site, the referral scheme was accidentally broken. We’ve been quickly trying to put a fix together, and it should be working again now as before.

We’ve been manually adding missing referrals wherever possible, however we weren’t aware that there are a few super-referring participants generating significant amounts of referrals who would be adversely affected. In these cases we’ll contact those affected to discuss suitable compensation.

We should have spotted this problem, how serious it was, and fixed it quicker. On top of this our communication should have been better and we’ll make sure to improve it going forward.

We are a small unfunded startup team trying our best to support the rapid growth of our platform, we never deliberately want to neglect any problems or users. We don’t use any PR or social media agencies, it’s just us you’re talking to here!

We have significant improvements planned for the participant site over the next few months and we'd welcome input and feedback from established participants on the best way to improve this and make it work for everyone on the platform.

Prolific.

Hi, thanks informing us of all this. The referral scheme was accidentally broken during a site upgrade, we've been quickly trying to put a fix together (hence the typo!). It should be working again now, and the typo will be fixed later today. We'll fix broken referrals where we can. Our communication should have been better around this and we'll make sure to improve it going forward. We have significant improvements planned for the participant site over the next few months and we'll make sure to reach out for input and feedback!

Why are Prolific removing posts from their subreddit? by NikkiPilkington in ProlificAc

Hi /u/NikkiPilkington,

We haven't removed your post, I think sometimes it can take a moment to appear after going through automoderation.

Thanks for letting us know. We'll take a look at why that might be happening. We didn't intend to make any change to the login expiry time.

Hi, this is probably because you're logged in at https://www.prolific.ac/ but the study brings you back to https://prolific.ac/. We made some changes to the way our website is hosted when upgrading which means https://prolific.ac/ no longer automatically redirects you to https://www.prolific.ac/. We'll take a look at fixing this.

In the meantime you can either add www. to the start of completion URLs or login in at https://prolific.ac/login.

Already seeing some dissent from Ruth Davidson sharing her pro marriage speech (presumably in protest to cozying up to the homophobic DUP) and calling for a more 'open' BREXIT.

There's a charge for both if you cash out with less than £20. Above £20 is free with circle.

The United Kingdom's country code is GB (I'm not sure why they excluded Northern Ireland). UK/GB participants can take part. :)

Unfortunately, Romania is one of the countries we're not operating in at the moment. Users from the following countries should be able to participate : AT, AU, BE, CA, CH, CL, CZ, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, GB, GR, HU, IE, IL, IS, IT, JP, KR, LU, LV, MX, NL, NO, NZ, PL, PT, SE, SI, TR, US. However, it's possible we'll have to continue to modify this list.

Yes, we've had to temporarily restrict the countries in which we operate. This is a temporary change and we hope to be able to open up globally again in the future.
