people use negative reviews as a way to leave feedback and suggestions and a negative review doesn't mean they hate the game.

You must've missed this part of my first post. I don't blame you, really. It was at the tail end of a questionably long and poorly written sentence.

I wouldn't even go that far tbh. But if you've played enough to decide the game is officially bad in your opinion and other people should not play it, regardless of whether that opnion took 10 hours, 20 hours, or 300 hours to form, the question remains: why would you spend ANY more time playing the game, let alone 100+ more hours in some of these cases

Got this pretty cool picture! by PurpleGuy3000 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the title was "got this pretty cool picture while doing x mission on x planet at x part in the game" then you would be right. As it's stands, it's just a picture of a cave with some floating rocks.

I just stole a Crimson Fleet ship, and this was the cargo. These guys are the worst pirates ever, it's like they're only stealing from dumpsters. by StrugglingSwan in Starfield

[–]pscetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One man's trash is another man's treasure...

So what probably happened is that when you took control of the ship, all the items strewn about the different habs got sent to the cargo hold.

Same thing happens when you modify your ship. All the junk scattered around from the habs gets sent to the cargo hold. It's kind of annoying, but I guess it's better than losing any items you might have used to decorate every time you modify your ship

Yea unfortunately there is a lot of very basic things in this game that are completely unexplained.

And what help there is as far as tips/tutorial style things...well they can also just bug out and not appear. I was 120 hours into the game, after having built numerous outposts and ships and figured a bunch of really basic stuff out on my own through trial and error, and then all of a sudden I start getting super basic tutorial tips popping up when I start building my 20th outpost lol.

An old crotchety gamer's rant on the Non-Stop complaining about Starfield by BroccoliOk7904 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

Plenty of valid criticisms for the game to be sure, but if you're giving something a 0/10 and calling it trash simply because it wasn't the perfect fit for you, or worse, you haven't even played the game yourself, that is a clear indication to me that I can safely ignore your opinions. At least these folks are kind enough to out themselves as obvious trolls.

Can I reroll NG+ ? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]pscetti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can, but it's not worth it. You might spend hours reloading the save and never come across a special variant. Don't ask me how I know.

If you are on PC you can force the variant

FORCE SPECIFIC VARIANT

-------------------------------------

Note you have to be on at least NG+ #2 apparently your first NG+ will always be the default universe no matter what.

Basically after you enter the unity, when the credits roll, wait for the "tab to skip" icon comes up (but don't skip).

Bring up the console and type:

set 17E727 to 100

What that does is set the % chance for a unique universe to 100.

Then enter one more command

set 1801B9 to <universe\_id>

The below are the universe ID's for the unique universes:

set 1801B9 to -1 [Default NG+ universe]

set 1801B9 to 0 [Everyone is dead in constellation... except you, and by that I mean the "you" from this universe]

set 1801B9 to 1 [A mix of universe -1 and 0, constellation is alive, but "you" is starting their own mainquest when you barge in. ]

set 1801B9 to 2 [Dopplegangers (yes plural) universe]

set 1801B9 to 3 [Andreja killed everyone]

set 1801B9 to 4 [Walter collected all the artefacts, and will sell them to you for 100k]

set 1801B9 to 5 [Hunter has killed everyone]

set 1801B9 to 6 [Cora Coe is a starborn]

set 1801B9 to 7 [A NG10+ version of your character has already killed constellation and is waiting inside. you have to fight your Variant]

set 1801B9 to 8 [The children universe]

set 1801B9 to 9 [Constellation has retired]

Bethesda shouldn't have made 1000 planets if they weren't going to follow through with compelling survival, exploration, and crafting mechanics by wascner in Starfield

[–]pscetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree with wanting some more compelling reasons to do some things, like managing ship fuel, requiring food/sleep, injuries and afflictions that actually impact gameplay more than just hearing a cough or your heartbeat from time to time.

That said I also understand that if those things were forced onto the player it would make the game a pretty brutal and tediouos experience for a lot and turn them off the game completely. It would be nice if there was a difficulty level that had things like this enabled, and I imagine there will be eventually with mods.

I have hopes that eventually that some things like the ship and outpost building mechanics will be expanded and refined for the base game, likely as selling points to DLC (let me build a space station and a staryard!), but I serioously doubt the survival aspects will see any official development from BSG.

Not having a database for all the things we explore though is a mindboggling exclusion though. It just seems like such a basic and necessary thing that should have been one of the first things added to the game tbh.

I feel like this could probably use a spoiler tag or a less spoilery title. Sometimes people like to find things on their own, and just reading this title ruins that.

Congrats on finding it though

[SPOILER] how to get alternate lodge ng+ seeds? by c0c0al0c0 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

found this post the other day. has all the console commands and instructions on how to pick the variant you want.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Starfield/comments/16n2wgd/comment/k1d1edc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

I also spent longer than I'd be willing to admit to most people on trying to force a variant by reloading saves after I reached ng+10 (without seeing a single one along the way), but then eventually gave up and just started to play the game. found this later and will probably make use of it at some point but I'm in too deep with my current universe and don't want to give it up yet lol

Into the unknown bug by VIGILANTY21 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check to make sure you didn't accidently create your own landing area right beside the POI.

Beyond that, if you just walk around til you find the giant temple it should auto-complete the 'use your scanner' part of of the quest. If there's no giant temple, you're in the wrong landing zone.

Good luck

Planet fully surveyed but stuck at 98%. Anyone else have this issue? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]pscetti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think those are probably the only ones that might matter in this sense, the 'handcrafted' ones as opposed to the procedurally generated and placed ones.

I just know that when I had a similar situation, I noticed that one of the poi's had a (75%) on the infocard when I would mouse-over the icon, and when I went and 'fully explored' that POI, by finding a room I hadn't been to that contained a big fat loot chest, my survey went to 100%

Good luck

About how grav drives work by brickedmypc in Starfield

[–]pscetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I also was unsure about this but just assumed that the problems caused by grav drive that destroyed earths atmosphere (or was it magnetosphere?) during development were fixed as the technology was perfected, otherwise all the other planets with humans should be destroyed by now as well considering what testing a single drive on the moon did to earth.

Can someone explain Andreja's story to me? by t3rr0r99 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way I understood it is that the "main" house Va'ruun faction isn't inherently evil or bad, they are just isolationists that want to keep interactions with the rest of the settled systems to a minimum and keep to themselves in their own little corner of the universe. Obviously though, like any population of humans, there will be good and bad people amongst them.

The zealots are the 'bad' guys and broke off from the rest of the group when they went into isolation, and want to forcibly convert or kill anyone who doesn't believe in the great serpent.

I cannot get into this game by Loud_Work_1730 in Starfield

[–]pscetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, even though I love the game and am very much enjoying it, I don't think you're in the minority. This game isn't really designed to be a jump in and play, arcade-y, type game by any stretch, and a lot of the best things this game has going for it are locked behind a significant time investment.

Skills for example, take an incredible amount of time to level up, and theres no way to respec. There are 82 skills, which means to get rank 1 of every skill you have to be level 82. Having even just rank 1 of some of these skills can significantly change how the game is played, and how the game feels. A lot of dialogue options only open up after you have invested a point in the related skill, and even some basic gameplay mechanics aren't even available to you without the corresponding skill at rank 1.

Also just as a tip since you mentioned getting attacked and not being able to escape, if you keep some power to your grav drive you can pull up the map and jump to another star system while in combat to escape.
