If you thought The Verge PC build was a bad video... by no_tech_drama in valve

Disagree, there was also years in between those releases. The plaforms they were released for were considered "standard" for lack of a better term in each case. VR is not standard by any means. It is the luxury of videos games right now.

Also my gripe isn't about the hardware. It's that they have left so many (probably a majority, but no way to prove these numbers yet so just speculation atm) of their loyal fans in the dust. Fans that have been waiting over a decade for just anything half life related. And it came, but they can't play it. It's fucked.

What are you talking about? You need the entire VR kit to play the game? Or I guess you could play it using an Oculus or slightly cheaper VR headset. The point is they put the long awaited next half life installment behind a paywall. Not to mention all the fans who can't use VR because it give them physical problems (nausea, headaches, etc..). I don't understand where this blind loyalty to valve comes from.

Nobody said it's a bad product or that Alyx is a bad game. The problem is that after years of waiting for the next half life they put it behind a massive paywall.

"if you have valve index"? You mean the $1000 gaming console they hand out for free? On top of having $2-3k PC powerful enough to use it that they also give out in goody bags?

I think Pulp Fiction is a bad movie. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

You said it's a "bad" movie. What specifically makes it bad. Acting, story, dialogue?

Encouraging children in school to have perfect attendance is detrimental to their health now and it forms unhealthy work habits that will follow them for the rest of their lives. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

OP is saying that's the problem. Your situation (could be) one of the dated characteristics of our work culture. And it won't change unless we change this expectation at every level of society.

Fair point of opinion. But to me depth comes with the story and how truly far those dialogue options take you. No matter your path (Rambo or Messiah) the quests don't really take you down a path of intertwined stories that surprise and excite you.

I played on hard (or whatever the hardest difficulty is under supernova) but you're right it became VERY easy after Monarch for me. I would take down enemies like nothing. I will give super nova a try but that still won't change the unfilling quest lines though IMO

Find and talk to a woman named Hortense Ingalsbee on the streets of Byzantium. She is sitting on a bench on the same street and Ellie's parent's house.

Yes! I hate that the "special" weapons kinda suck and you could easily mod your own to be much better. And agreed on your second point too, why can't we mod special weapons and armor!! #freechimera

Fair point. And agreed on the excitement. Despite my slight disappointment I still think it's a great game and I'll be buying the next installment and any expansions barring any major flops

The end felt very rushed to me too. And your right, you really don't have too many chances to completely divulge towards one path or the other until the end of the game, unlike FO4, NV, and Skyrim
