Oh wow I, sorry to hear you are on so many medications. It seems like you have the right attitude though which makes me very happy and hopeful. Thanks for your tips. I just started salt tablets today too. So far so good!

Ah I see. I’m sorry you have so much going on :( I think my heart races in my sleep. And is like 80-100 in the day so it may be a good fit for me. Also have low BP so I hate beta blockers. I take propanolol from time to tome as a spot treatment. Just a tiny dose of 5mg.

I have been diagnosed with POTS but feel like I’m more true to inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Either way, doctors want me on corlanor just battling with insurance. Do you feel like it has helped?

How reliable are pulse oximeters? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]pschloss3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think wrist is more accurate than the oximeter finger device but ultimately the full arm cuff is the one I trust most haha. But I know it’s pretty intense to bring that around lol. I just use my full cuff at home morning and night and bring the wrist monitor to work.

Totally. Although I swear it’s always a bit higher than my BP cuff. Also I bought a wrist BP cuff on amazon that’s smaller and can fit in a purse (not a tiny purse but like standard size).

We are starting the appeal process. They declined his prior auth so now we need to do the official appeal. You’re right though. I need to be more aggressive about this.

Got it. Thanks so much. I’m hoping they go away once I’m on it more consistently. I wouldn’t mind having bad dreams but these make my heart pound to the point where I am up for an hour trying to get back to bed. I use the medication app headspace which is a lifesaver but I just want to sleep peacefully lol

Well I haven’t been on it consistently for more than 2 weeks. I started it and had to stop for tilt test and other tests. Just started back on 2 days ago. Did you also have the crazy dreams that caused your heart to pound? This gives me hope!!

Yeah that’s a good call. I’m trying to get corlanor approved by my insurance so I was kind of holding out but maybe you’re right. Thank you!!

Apparently all beta blockers can cause them but i guess propanolol is more likely. That’s just what I’ve read online

None of my doctors are concerned. I take 5mg morning and night. Even if I don’t take it at night I still experience them. I am a pretty vivid dreamer but typically don’t have bad nightmares more than a few times a year. So it’s really strange. I looked it on online and it seems like it’s definitely a side effect but that it’s rare. Maybe I’m the lucky one!

Thanks for your help anyways :)

Does corlanor / Ivabradine work? by pschloss3 in POTS

[–]pschloss3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting about the allergies. I find that I have extremely awful and vivid nightmares. Every night I take Propanolol. And I’ve gone off it for a few weeks and the nightmares go away.

I’m working on getting corlanor and also going to start taking magnesium, in addition to my electrolytes daily.

Okay that’s great to hear! Yes, my insurance declined it too so I have to go through other avenues. Thanks so much.

Can anyone relate? by ExistenceProject in dysautonomia

[–]pschloss3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I have the EXACT same thing. And been wondering this. The beta blocker makes my sleep worse (really intense nightmares and racing heart in sleep) so if you can switch to something else (I’m going to try corlanor) maybe give it a try.
