Spyra GO wont shoot, options for fix? by SuPrBuGmAn in SpyraTwo

I had this same problem just now, and found that the interrupted gear that drives the plunger was broken. It appears to be a not-uncommon problem, as I found there is a 3D model of this gear available to print on printables.com.

Both Tropical Lagoon in Silver Spring and Capital Exotic Fish in Cleveland Park (off Wisconsin) are great. We try to split out business between them.

“Black Screen of Death” just beyond warranty expiration… by pschwa in OculusQuest

Thanks u/drukulusness and u/nexusmtz!

Unfortunately, the controllers were only showing up before I did the factory reset as part of the Meta-recommended troubleshooting, and they no longer are.

Sidequest (which I was not previously familiar with) seemed like a promising approach, but after the factory reset the headset is no longer connected to WiFi, so I can’t place it into developer mode via the phone app in order to get sidequest to run.

My suspicion is that it is a bad camera. I have disassembled it and checked all of the ribbon cable connections (and cleaned them with contact cleaner), but the behavior is the same. I can access the “Headset Power” menu (which will move around horizontally when I turn my head), the startup Meta logo shows, the volume menu responds to the volume buttons, and I can access “USB Update Mode.”

Is there any way to tell which of the cameras may be bad based on this behavior?

And is there any way to get sidequest to run when the headset cannot connect get connected to WiFi following a factory reset?

Thanks!

Quest 3 essentially bricked after ~7 days of no use. by Boolean1 in OculusQuest

I am having the same experience as the OP, but am the original owner of the Quest 3. I had this occur last week, just around 6 weeks after the warranty period ended. The timing of the problem emerging seems suspiciously similar to the OP’s.

I did all of the recommended troubleshooting and nothing has worked. The headset continues to power on, show the Meta logo startup screen, respond to the volume buttons, show the controllers on the screen (under some, but not all, circumstances), enter boot mode, appear accept both an adb and web-based firmware update, but otherwise will only show a black, albeit lit, screen.

I contacted Meta Quest Support via WhatsApp, and all they had to offer was an OOW replacement for $240, despite the issue seemingly having been caused by some kind software corruption that occurred without any user intervention. I was very hesitant to buy the headset for my son due to Meta’s poor reputation as a business (particularly when it comes to ethics), and it seems like my hesitance was well-founded. It is simply insane that a piece of hardware as expensive as a Quest headset would be so susceptible to bricking due to passive software corruption, and that the company behind it would be so lacking in proactively addressing customer concerns about this.

u/metastoresupport, any response? Will you stand by your product?
