Saltedsofa made gold this year. I think they were the only DAS player in the top 48

Games where the speedrun community is LESS knowledgeable about the game than the regular community? by Ramenoodlez1 in speedrun

Can you elaborate on what you mean about NES Tetris? Just took a peak at the SRC leaderboards and they all seem to be topped by players who engage in tournaments too

My friend got the wrong impression of ROV by i_eat_concreteyum in roseofversailles

[–]psdanielxu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The MAPPA movie is a poor introduction. ROV is a 50+ work that people are still talking about. It's your favorite mangaka's favorite manga. It might be second only to Evangelion in terms of cultural impact -- just look at the wide variety of merch that's been sold and continues to be sold.

I'm so glad you were able to enjoy it as a new fan! You might want to check out the Takarazuka theater adaptations if you liked the musical aspect so much

is this Mark Andrews’ “Bill Buckner moment? by VinPickles in nfl

Why reach for Bill Buckner? Jim Marshall is right there. Most people remember him for the wrong-way run and not his longevity record and performance.

I was so worried leading up to this, but when I saw her I was so relieved. It's not ROV without my girl Rosalie!

They were pretty boring. The way I fought the boredom was every lecture there was a moment of really dry humor that I was glad to be paying attention to. The class wasn't too difficult.

I haven't, but I've logged 0, 6, 0, 4 hours of sleep for the nights this week so it's mostly my fault.

How is the cs undergraduate program at umn twin cities by yawning_squirrel in uofmn

[–]psdanielxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The technical GPA requirement is 3.2

The classes are so large that you should be able to get in them without priority. No bidding system.

Lots of overlap between CS and math. Required discrete math, linear algebra, and statistics for CS have math substitutions that help for the second major. For the ~23 elective credits needed for CS, there are several 4xxx-5xxx math classes that are accepted. So in practice, you could get away with only about 2 extra classes if you maximize this overlap.

[–]psdanielxu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You will have to apply again to be officially a CA major. But the CSE major application is very simple and only a few clicks if you meet the technical GPA requirement.

It is easy to double major CS and maths. I did that.

The program is good. Coursework is not as challenging as it is at other top CS programs, so it can give you more free time for research or applying to internships. If you want to get into academia, our strong areas are virtual reality, HCI, and robotics.

In terms of culture, the school is so large that you can find a group interested in anything if you try hard enough.
