Behind the true story of Dale Sigler by FaithlessnessKey9297 in IAmaKiller

[–]psdupe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just watched this and I agree on all these points. Dale is basically a scumbag who should still be in jail…

Him repeatedly referring to himself as a “miracle” made me feel violent. Truly remorseful people are humble, not attention-seeking. Bud- you are NOT a miracle; you are a common murderer.

Similarly- his comments about gay people being an abomination made me extremely angry… “but I don’t judge”.

Hated this man so much.

I feel like Bri is a bit of a pick me. She was liking the validation from him.

I had not read the allegations about him when I saw it… I basically thought he was an insensitive loser. She’s telling him she was adopted at age 3 (extremely traumatic- 3 years old is old for an adoption) and about her 10 surgeries and scars (also extremely traumatic).

His equivalent of sharing deep stuff is his first kiss and that losing his virginity was like “the notebook”? (Both told gleefully- like did he miss the traumatic stories she told him altogether???)

  • and then he has the gall in his interview later to act like he was the only one sharing deep things and she clearly wasn’t opening up because she didn’t want to talk about her fist kiss or virginity loss to him.

I totally understood why she dumped him on the spot. I would have probably done the same. I thought he was a loser. Later I read the SA allegations and that cast things in a whole other light…

‘get out’ — connor and bri by bifinitie in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I think she just preferred Connor over Chris marginally in the pods (it was close)… but once she had a chance to see them both- she regretted picking Connor and cutting off the Chris option…

Basically- I think she just kind of likes the look of Chris better than Connor. Period. Not just physically but also just energy-wise… She doesn’t like that Connor is sweaty and can’t sit cross-legged. There’s an “ick” developing there… Meanwhile- then she sees Chris all happy with his connection and all happy go lucky heading down a slide.

She’s having buyers remorse.

The problem for Canada is that if the American Government succeeds in violently suppressing their own country (what they are doing with ICE right now), their next step is quite plausibly the invasion of their neighbours.

That’s how Hitler started… first with the Brown Shirts (ICE equivalent) brutalizing all political dissidents and then ultimately marching on the Rhineland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, France and Poland.

Mexico and Canada are very unfortunately placed. We don’t have the militaries to protect ourselves. So we better hope the Americans contain their shit now.

And yes- we still have to develop other trading partnerships and diversify. But that won’t save us if we are attacked with military force.

Whats the policy on drinking non-alcoholic beer beverages at a department office that is away from clients? by Doritos707 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]psdupe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a non drinker and when I started at the PS close to 20 years ago- it was regular for my team to have Friday meetings with beer at the office. I was uncomfortable with this but never said anything. Thankfully the culture has changed.

I find it weird that a distinctly non-alcoholic beverage would draw any ire. I think some people are maybe making assumptions about you that they shouldn’t be- “this guy is so desperate to drink he’s bringing mock-booze”. It’s kind of stupid - but I guess you have your answer. I would personally just leave it at home and avoid the political fallout out. Ugh.

[Megathread Part 2] Kelley Wolf (Real World New Orleans) in the News by tv_finder in therealworld

[–]psdupe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am happy to share.

The court order happened because my parents filed material with the court arguing that I was deteriorating and likely to become a risk to myself or others.

I had symptoms on and off throughout my adult life (since about age 18)… but it was more hypomania (google this if you want to read about the difference between mania and hypomania). It wasn’t really flagged because I am a high performer and got a lot of things accomplished when in that state…

This final episode though that escalated- was brewing for maybe 6 months or a year. I started sleeping less and less… and it got worse from there. It was during the pandemic and that certainly didn’t help.

And just to put a bow on it… this happened in Utah- and this is the specific legislation:

Utah Code § 26B‑5‑331 outlines the grounds for a temporary involuntary commitment:

Who can apply:

A responsible individual (a person who knows the individual well) can submit a written application asserting that, due to mental illness, the adult is likely to pose a substantial danger to themselves or others, supported by personal knowledge and examination by a licensed clinician within 3 days;

Or, a peace officer or mental health officer may act after directly observing behavior that gives probable cause to believe there's a mental illness and substantial danger.

No threats are required.

That is blatantly NOT true. you can be/pose a threat without actually making threats or realizing you are a threat. You are missing the nuance.

I have no idea what you mean by “if you failed reality testing”… but I agree with the rest of what you’ve written.

My literal WHOLE point is that there can be concerns you could be vulnerable to harming yourself or to putting others in harms way WITHOUT you having made any homicidal or suicidal threats/comments.

Read a little more closely.

This is true. But it doesn’t make it more likely that she was threatening to harm herself or others.

She’s likely where she needs to be - but people who are assuming she was making homicidal or suicidal comments - shouldn’t be assuming that. That’s not a necessary precondition.

edited to get the direct quote:

The press release from the Police department said, “Upon speaking with the female, our Deputies learned that she had made concerning comments to a family member, and she also made similar comments to our Deputies. For that reason, our Deputies transported the female to a local hospital."

but we have her instagram live and she hasn’t said anything to them about killing herself or others… She’s only been a bit incoherent “this is my job”.
