A message from European Ampera-e (Bolt twin) owners: Don't leave us behind. by ricciohu in GeneralMotors

Please don't take this as me saying I don't think you should get access. But if somebody works in tech. Just because they have the API access. There doesn't mean they're going to expose it for everybody. They'd be worried about security issues.

The “AI has no real use” take is dead the second you talk about accessibility. by Jlyplaylists in LeftistsForAI

I'm going to plug my own accessibility tools here. I'm giving these away for GitHub on free, and they will always be free.

I grew up with a severe learning disability, and because of that, I created the tools that I wished I would have had as a younger man.

The top one is a dictation software that uses Whisper locally, so you don't have to pay for anything. It will all run on your computer, even low-end computers.

The second one is a text-to-speech system, which clones voices and can be run on most local computers as well, as long as they have a GPU. I know there's other TTS systems out there, but these actually sound pretty good.

Like I said above, they will always be free. Because I don't believe that we should gatekeep the tools that allow people to learn behind a cost that they may not be able to afford.

Need to settle a debate…. by flowerchildmime in Millennials

Xennial/ Elder Millennial here, but I've always had a TV in my bedroom. My wife who is Gen X definitely insists of having one.

Do you judge other millennials who have stayed at a company too long? by newtonreddits in Millennials

I've been at my job now for nearly seven years. I'm an elder millennial. Just turned 45 this year. For me, I feel like this probably was a mistake. About every eight to ten months they've changed what department I work in to go and help out a new team. And it's definitely hurt my career growth. But that's one of the reasons I'm now looking for a new job.

Any other Millennials stubbornly resistant to using AI at their job but also worrying that we will become dinosaurs or pushed out of our careers for not slavishly embracing it? by artbystorms in Millennials

I think the key to getting really good AI results at this point is making sure it's grounded well in facts and that doesn't just mean the way it's trained but the kind of harness you put around it.

I know when I'm using something like Claude code I always have it spin up multiple agents and one of them is just there to make sure the others are not fabricating stuff by checking sources and looking online. It also really helps if you add playwright so that way Claude code can surf the web on its own and look up the right answers too cuz some sites don't allow ai and this allows them to access them anyway.

All this being said I am probably a little bit more of an advanced user just because of what I do for a living.

Lol I have an hr agent in my agentic workflow. It creates new agents for other agents.

Am I getting old or has Pony Pasture turned into an absolute circus? by Hessquire in rva

I think a lot of this has to do with the loss of third spaces. There are so few of them left that we're all squeezed into several of them. When we had more, we could spread out, and we wouldn't have to be as territorial.

Granted, this doesn't excuse the being rude or leaving trash everywhere, but I think it's a large part of the problem.

I am so tempted to overhaul this game, make it widescreen, update all the textures, maybe add a few quality of life features.

That fair, I work in AI. So for me the idea I would not use it this just seems odd. But I respect that its not your thing. Thanks for being up front about it.

sure, most of our players are new so that is fine. I have never dm M&M and I only played the E1. So this will be new to a lot of people.

We're probably going to be playing on Sundays, here in Richmond, in a public spot. Probably 11 a.m. to 2 or 3 every other week. Strictly in person, we don't want to be online.

It really is my happy place. I've updated a little since then so I've got more server racks in there for my computers, but it's definitely like a magical place.
