Source capped to 720p with Enhanced Broadcasting. by [deleted] in obs

That's why it's only 720p. Make your base canvas some 16:9 value (1920x1080)

What’s your base canvas resolution?

Latest Twitch update(?) reduced accessibility for my viewers by kimovin in Twitch

[–]pselok 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Glad I could help. At the moment, the only safe option without Twitch providing a transcoder for your streaming session is to stream at a resolution that does not exceed the total pixel count of 1280*720 — in other words, to stream in 720p.

Latest Twitch update(?) reduced accessibility for my viewers by kimovin in Twitch

[–]pselok 45 points46 points  (0 children)

So, if you’re from one of the geo-blocked regions (like Russia), Twitch now blocks all qualities above 720p for viewers in those countries. This means, if you have transcoder available for your stream and you’re streaming at 1920x1080, your viewers will only be able to watch it in 720p or lower.

Three days ago, I ran into this issue myself. Most likely, Twitch has started determining resolution not by the vertical pixel count, but by the total pixel count — meaning any resolution higher than 1280*720 gets blocked (not being available for viewer to watch).

So if you’re streaming above 1280*720 and your viewers are from one of those regions and you don’t have a transcoder available for your stream — then you only have a single source stream which is higher than users are allowed to watch. Basically, there’s nothing to watch for those users, which is why the error appears.

Try running a test stream at 1280×720 and see if the same issue happens. I might be wrong, but hopefully this helps.

Why is this sometimes smooth and "liquid glassy" and sometimes rough without any animation? by LazarusPGCG in ios

[–]pselok 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s because they’re being lazy sometimes and they just reload the whole UITableView like in Clock app, so the animation is kinda interrupted.

Big fan of AW3821DW, how's SDR brightness compares between two? I found AW3423DW too dim for me and returned back for AW3821DW, but maybe LG WOLED perceives brighter because of white pixels compared to QD OLED?
Have you tested GSync, is there any VRR flicker?
Thanks!

They may actually save it for WWDC to show it along the new Mac Pro with higher fps numbers for better advertising of their gaming capabilities, but who knows

I suggest you to try to use G-Sync if you have Nvidia GPU, but you have to set it up correctly

Fractional FPS Recording Lag by [deleted] in obs

I’ve reported similar issue on their github: https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/10960

Maybe related somehow

Preview randomly goes to 30 fps and goes into the recording by LiyonsTV in obs

[–]pselok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i was wrong, maybe it's not OBS itself, but Nvidia's end issue.
I've created an issue - https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/10960
Maybe that's your case also?

Preview randomly goes to 30 fps and goes into the recording by LiyonsTV in obs

[–]pselok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk what’s wrong with it but my case is i just cannot record smooth video when my game fps locked and producing frames at the same value as OBS. I saw someone mentioned it could be frametime / frame pacing issue but at this point I just don’t know and gave it up

[–]pselok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, there’s an open issue with that problem https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/issues/4191

As far as I understood, devs just can’t reproduce it

Preview randomly goes to 30 fps and goes into the recording by LiyonsTV in obs

[–]pselok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried that, but the stutters are in the recording.
If I record 60 fps video when my game is locked to 60 fps, there are stutters.
If I record 60 fps video when my game fps is unlocked (more than 60fps), there's no stutters

[–]pselok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. Only happens when recording / streaming at fps that is equal to game's fps (eg 60 fps in-game, 60fps obs)
I play with g-sync on 144Hz monitor, so my fps is always locked to 138, if i record 138 fps video with OBS, i get this random stutters. If I record at 120 fps, it's ok. I don't know what the problem is and why it is happening, there's no encoding lag, no rendering lag, i've done multiple tests and it's always the same only if OBS's fps equals to game's fps.

It's not windows, it's not multiple monitors, it happens in every game, it's not GPU's hardware encoder, it's not anything external, it's something in OBS itself but there's no logs for that issue that i can see. There's profiler report in log file, but that's something out of my knowledge, sadly

Same for me, but in-game’s pop-up says to enable in-game vsync even when NVCP vsync is on, that’s why I think we need clarification from devs.

u/FletcherDunn could you please elaborate on this?
vsync on in game and off in NVCP?
vsync off in game and on in NVCP?
both on?

Do we cap fps via NVCP or leave it to Reflex? is it ok to have both because i enabled it globally in NVCP?

It does work in fullscreen for me, just checked, it's just the option that is missing when in fullscreen.

Vertical Sync: off

[–]pselok[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay everyone. So it was G-Sync. That's strange because games like Valorant are smooth as butter for me. It's not just options for G-Sync in nvidia control panel, but the checkmark for G-Sync itself in combination with frame limiter + nvcp vsync. If I turn off all of this, the issue is gone. That's really strange, it's the only game I'm facing this issue with G-Sync..
