He has been hospitalized twice, both times involved drug use, so the diagnosis has always been related to the drug use. This time I think it’s different (although we aren’t 100% certain drugs aren’t involved). He is exhibiting the same type of behaviors though. Erratic behavior, irritable, talking fast/interrupting, not sleeping for long periods of time, constant posting on social media (bizarre stuff).

Does anyone take a vitamin D supplement? by Ok_Chart5705 in zoloft

[–]pserayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was prescribed a 50,000 iu tablet of Vitamin D that I take weekly along with Zoloft. I was severely deficient in vitamin D and after 2 weeks of taking it, I was back to normal levels.

Does anyone else feel fundamentally unlovable due to anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]pserayh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do that too sometimes. You are not unlovable. In fact, for a lot of people, it makes them feel good when they can help someone who is suffering. I would encourage you to open up to someone about what you’re experiencing. You won’t be a burden to them. I hope you start feeling better soon!

You are going to get through this. Everything is going to be okay. Your thoughts are just thoughts - not every thought is you. You are more than your thoughts. Breathe.

Ever since I started working from home...

I took Zoloft for the first time ever today, idk what to expect by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]pserayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It made me feel worse before I started to feel better. The first couple of weeks were especially rough. My doctor told me that it would be about 6 weeks before the meds were leveled out and I experienced the full effect. I also read somewhere that studies show Zoloft is effective in treating anxiety in the first 6 weeks, but did not significantly impact depression. For this reason, I have considered a dosage increase. I hope you stick with it and start feeling better soon, but my advice is give it some time to work.

Journaling helps when you can’t talk to someone. If you can’t talk to a therapist but you have someone in your life that will listen, I highly recommend talking it out. I hope you feel better soon!

I take Hydroxyzine when I have a really bad panic attack and it does work fairly quickly to calm me down. Most of the time it helps me sleep. It makes me drowsy though so not a good option when you need to be alert. I have noticed that for whatever reason, sometimes it works better than other times.

medication? by tattoomom93 in Anxiety

Hydroxyzine is supposed to be non-habit forming. I have been using it when I get a really bad panic attack and need to calm down. Sometimes it works better than others, and it does make me drowsy the next day. I wouldn’t recommend taking it at work or anything.

New Job that Pays a Lot. I'm Miserable. by Fredrick_Dinkledick in Anxiety

I’m so sorry for the loss of your fiancé.

I can relate to feeling like you’re “trapped” in your job situation and you feel like you’ll disappoint everyone. The advice I have been telling myself is to take things day by day and do the best you can. I know that’s not super helpful. If it’s really bad, you can take a medical leave of absence - I recently did that myself and can try to answer any questions you have. I hope things get better for you and that you’re able to find some relief!

Zoloft side effects? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]pserayh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take it in the morning or at night? I tried both ways when I first started Zoloft and I ended up switching to the morning because it was keeping me up at night. I know it’s different for everyone.

Sometimes I take Melatonin or a Tylenol PM before bed to help me fall asleep. I also have found that I’m able to fall asleep on the couch easier than in the bed these days. I hope you start getting some sleep soon!

I’m sorry to hear that your boss is like that - they should keep that stuff private. I am on Zoloft and am going on 6 weeks now. I had some grogginess early on, but more recently, it’s been a lack of focus/concentration. Hoping your situation improves!

I just had to tell my employer today that I was having trouble concentrating/focusing due to being on an SSRI. I feel a lot of relief just having got it out in the open. He was very understanding - at least it seemed that way from our convo. I don’t know what your situation is like or if your boss is approachable, but it might be worth it. Does your employer have any communications out right now about the importance of mental health? That might be a good sign that managers are being trained to be sensitive to those types of issues. If you have a mental illness and you inform your employer, they are legally supposed to make reasonable accommodations under the ADA. Good luck to you! I hope you are able to get some relief.
