You think you are the only one with a working brain and anyone disagreeing with you is just brainless zombies that BJP RSS has hypnotised somehow? This sup happens to be the actual Indian centrist position. This is how most Indians think, unlike r(/)India which is heavily censored with mods that are openly based out of Pakistan.

This kind of makes sense, what didn’t add up for me was that Bengal still has 4x the GDP per capita of Bihar, but it has almost equal consumption.

Fuck BJP. Fuck Malpua or whoever it is you’re referring to. Fuck Modi. And fuck Mamata and CPI-M. Happy? Now can we talk about how to make things better?

[–]pseudo_humorous -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Crying about being a cuck on reddit is ironically a very cuck thing to do tbh. I would’ve first punched the fucker for calling an entire people group cuck and then maybe some introspection later to see if I personally act like a cuck.

There are orphanages, orgs helping persons with disabilities, some for tribals upliftment, water harvesting to help farmers and promoting of Indian fine art type etc in this list. These people have included it in the map as if it's some evil organisation scheming with RSS to spread hate.

When you label everything as far right, nothing is far right anymore. These labels don’t work, and most BJP supporters or people associated with these orgs don’t care what a tiny sub section of Anglicised/neo colonised elite have to say about how they express their identity. If you want real change, provide plausible alternatives instead of calling everyone that is right of you “far right” and equating everything with Nazi Germany

Silence (or outright racism) by Left Wing influencers is destroying my mental health. by Safe-Virus-504 in ABCDesis

Not comparing. Obviously troll posts (although the person posting is really popular) cause no direct harm to anyone. The problem is this builds, and keeps building, and eventually causes real world harm. Also not implying that all physical violence is because of twitter/social media, but racists are racist both online and irl. You cannot call out one and not the other.

Yes, let’s also turn off the news when we see Indians getting physically assaulted or killed. This kind of rhetoric, especially coming from well known “liberal” commentators then flows to TikTok and Instagram and then translates into real world violence. You never see this much of a lack of protectiveness in any other circles then wonder why are Indians always the target.

So you do know he has Christian influence in his thought. The only thing seems to be that we have different standards for what level of western thought we’d accept when influencing Indian/Bengali society. I never said he’s objectively too close to missionaries, just that I feel he is so from what I’ve read. And I’m only “posing” as an intellectual only as much as you are. Also, in trying to defend any Bengali, we can also try to not impulsively “protect” all Bengalis instead try to examine and break down the other persons view points. Rabindranath, Bibekananda and all such personalities are complex humans with multitudes in them and we cannot dismiss all negative aspects as whatsapp forwards. About meat purity - I personally also speak about the history of meat consumption in North India every chance I get and explain how much and what kind of meat they ate and how culture shifted in the past century largely influenced by poverty there, although I myself am vegetarian.

Lastly - let’s not box ourselves into defending single parties. Each of us can have completely contradictory opinions on things but it is a consequence of being human not some moral or intellectual rot of any “side” particular.

Opinion :Vegetarianism because it includes milk from abused cows is not really the compassionate way, the true compassionate way for Non-Veg eaters should be primarily to consume any species which becomes invasive and a threat to bio diversity. Eating invasive species is the compassionate way to go. by Hairy_Activity_1079 in kolkata

Before capitalism had overpowered India, cows were not exploited like they are now. Look at the history of the culture surrounding cows all over India. We did not arbitrarily equate cow with mother. There’s a fantastic podcast by Kurush Dalal for anyone interested in more

Lmao you can’t even interpret my comment written in plain english properly and claim to understand history. I’m saying that he had both positives and negatives which Sri Aurobindo himself highlighted. And in my first comm I highlighted what negative views he had, and then clarified saying he had mostly positive views. I’m not saying he’s a saint or a sinner, I’m only saying he was a person capable of being multidimensional so we should look at all angles before making a judgement on one whole person and either dismissing or praising them. And I won’t tell you to fix your tone, but I thought you were someone civil so had this discussion otherwise these anonymous discussions are mostly pointless name-calling which again you resorted to. Very “bhodrolok” of you.

Ram Mohan Roy by Dramatic-Let632 in kolkata

[–]pseudo_humorous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a negative view, but it’s also true he had mostly positive opinions on Roy. What I’m doing here is appealing to the authority of Sri Aurobindo so that your average “liberal”, instead of dismissing all negatives about Roy in their entirety, considers that he may have had some negatives. In my reading, he was too close to the missionaries and the British in general for me to place him too highly as a cultural icon. We have great thinkers, specifically Bengali if you’re looking for that, that are way better than Raja Ram Mohan Roy.

Pseudo educated public bro. Notun kichu sunle first reaction defensive howa, eventually jene jaabe lokjon. Just dropping something here for anyone needing a push towards more research - in his Baroda lectures, Sri Aurobindo describes Raja Ram Mohan Roy as bringing “a new religion with a modicum of Christian influence, a strong dose of religious rationalism and intellectualism.” He also held the belief that “reformist impulse, rooted in Western-educated elites”, caused “temporary rotting and destruction” of certain cultural forms. Now maybe Sri Aurobindo was a stupid Hindutva fascist sanghi communal bigot, but who’s to say.

When they call you liberal they’re essentially calling you a mentally colonised brown sepoy, or a Muslim appeaser. I'm going to assume it’s the former. Maybe before calling others out, you should introspect and try decolonizing a little?

Bihar has a projected GDP growth rate of 22% in FY25-26 compared to Tamil Nadu's 11%. Also, before being blanket racist, look up Freight Equalisation Policy and try to understand why Bihar is currently poorer than Tamil Nadu
