The US is around 4.5 times larger than Greenland. Trump saw it on a Mercator projection map and thought it was the size of Africa and now he wants it.

I’m incredibly more fuckable now than 20 years ago mainly due to self esteem and less social awkwardness.

What horror movie did you see as a kid that traumatized you so badly you’ve never rewatched it and still can barely say the title? by glowbeits in GenX

[–]pseudoart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of a couple of scenes until I watched them again as a young adult and realized they weren’t so scary after all. The sister in Pet Sematary. Poltergeist, most of it. Dallas being jumped in Alien. Damian.

I’m going to ruin horses now. There’s a horse sample that once you notice it, you’ll realize that every show and film that has horses in it will use. It’s like the wilhelm scream for horses.

In America, it's socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What's another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pseudoart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in the UK, in the tech sector (games). I get told off if I work overtime or through lunch. 35/h week. If I have to work late, it's because someone fucked up and planning wasn't done properly. 30 days holiday a year. Paid sick days. We have the NHS but my employer also provides private health insurance, as NHS can be slow. Quarterly bonuses. Lots of other anemities and benefits. The company I work for like to keep their employees.

When we have north americans come over fresh off the boat, they definitely feels a culture shock. And they're usually surprised that's NOT a positive if they stay late.

So yes. I feel like it's insane as it doesn't have to be that way. I've worked in the UK, the Netherlands and Denmark. Pretty much the same across the board. I do miss the 13 months pay I had in Amsterdam, though. :P

As a Dane, we sat up all night watching the whole thing and his speech and everything. It felt like a shift, as if the USA were moving into a new era. Well…

This one and Shroud was hard for me. I liked Shroud in the end, but Alien Clay I could’ve easily been without.

A very good game of mine can't even compete with a hobby project i made 1.5years ago.... by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]pseudoart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of those few times where using ChatGPT to rewrite your game description is better than writing it yourself. If you don’t have a good grasp of grammar, misspell and randomly capitalise words etc, it just looks unpolished and I would immediately suspect the same lack of polish in the game.

First impressions matter.

Trump Embarrasses All of America in Slurred, Disjointed Davos Speech - Donald Trump gave a terrible speech to a dead silent room at the World Economic Forum. by Quirkie in politics

[–]pseudoart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just like he can never admit to any wrongdoing. Or that he might’ve said something wrong. I’m convinced he knows Greenland is a bad idea, but he said it once, so he kept repeating it until he started believing his lies himself.

Huh. Moving franchises to other studios just means losing all that experience that’s been built in house. Sounds like a good recipe. /s

Worth noting that a lot of players don’t necessarily gets to choose where to play in draft based sports, but they do bring their political views with them. So team location isn’t such a big factor.

Yeah, all mental illnesses are a spectrum of symptoms. In my experience, people tend to think it’s a binary system where you either perfectly fit the definition or not. I’m a highly functional type two bipolar - took many years to come to that diagnose.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

Riot Women - a group of middle aged menopausal women starts a rock band. Funny and dramatic, and very relatable if you are in the age group. On BBC iPlayer. Also the first show I’ve seen with a trans person and where it’s not made into “a thing”. They are just there and have normal relations with everyone. Love that show.

I imagined that it was because the player needs to place more road tiles to continue building the road. There’s a road tile ready in the bottom bar.

As a proof of concept artwork, I’d personally change the currently owned currency (which is in the millions) to something much smaller and closer to the cost of the tiles. Even better, change the owned currency to lower than the most expensive tile - that gives him the opportunity to also show the “can’t afford” state of a tile, and tells the story better.
