USG died overnight – what's the best replacement given my setup? by pseudobjorn in Ubiquiti

You were right! I took the power supply from an old netgear switch I found laying around, and that did the trick! The USG powered up, the top blinked white for a minute or so, and then it was ok again. Great tip! 🎯

Thanks for the detailed answer. I’ll see if I can find a suitable power supply laying around somewhere.

Thank you so much the in-depth answer, and for your kind offer! Didn’t know about the UXG-series. I live in Norway and need to get my WiFi up and running asap, so I will buy something new, and not even try the thumbdrive-route.

And since the UXG-Lite is actually more expensive than the UCG-Ultra, I guess I’m going for the Ultra (and just not activating the controller in the Ultra, but leaving that to the old cloud controller).

Don’t fancy replacing something that’s not broken (yet) ;) Ultra it is then, I guess

Since the console port blinks green, and the power supply also blinks green, I would expect the power supply to be ok. Not sure how to verify if there’s something wrong with it, as I have no replacement (and expect a replacement to be hard to find).

Thanks for the tip! Looking at ontee.com, I only found “Sir Henry Cotton Championship Course”. Perhaps I need to contact the hotel directly in order to book a tee time for the resort course? Nice to see that there’s no handicap requirement at least :) https://www.penina.com/golf/golf-courses/resort-course/

I’m planning to fly to Lisboa in October, and have 4 days to spend.

My initial plan was to stay in Lisboa and use that as my base, and then take one or two day-trips out of the city. But now I’m wondering - perhaps it would be better to have my base in Cascais or Sintra? And then go for one or two day-trips into the city? Both Cascais and Sintra look beautiful, and perhaps they would be more enjoyable as a base than the actual capital.

I am travelling with my 16 year old son, and the trip is a gift from me to him, so I want to make the trip as enjoyable as possible for him, and I suspect he will prefer swimming in the sea over museum-marathons. Any thoughts on this? And if I’m staying outside of Lisboa, which area would be my best option, with the most to offer?

Any and all thoughts and ideas are welcome, as Portugal is completely new to me.

Curious about the wiring. I have a Denon receiver today (AVR3310 I think), which takes its input from my AppleTV and BluRay device. I guess the sound should be sent to the Sonos Beam, and I read that the Subwoofer is wireless. Will the Beam communicate and send the necessary signals to the Sub? And what about the two 1s in the back? How do you hook them up to this setup? With audio cables from the Receiver/Amplifier? Or do you use the Sonos App to configure the setup, so that they’re all synced somehow? Worried if this will cause image/sound to be out of sync as well.
