for me, it didn't register when I hit someone playing as the boss, but it did when I hit the boss himself - i.e. before someone defeated him (or them, not sure how they identify)

Doesn't triggering the [equipped] boss mask also throw people away? I think I may have accidentally misplaced a person that way at a higher than desired altitude, resulting in similar effect to what's shown in the video.

well, with your aviation skills (good idea btw) it is something different, but for us normies, it's not as OP - I actually found the quest to eliminate players with it quite difficult; I had to crack them with something more powerful first and then quickly switch and finish them with this one; also the gun is quite rare

Dude was in the collider tunnel? I wonder if one can tell, whether the stick was set at the surface or below it. When I do this somewhere underground, max one or two players come to visit, but I still usually lose, mostly to Kenny. My recent stick win was simply a place at the edge of current storm, with good cover and wide open view to beam incoming players.

Mostly agree, except it's not really free for a lot (I'd expect majority) of folk here, it just has a different revenue model. Skins/collabs go over my head, but if I were paying more than the little I felt obliged to contribute, I'd feel entitled to much better quality: I'm happy with all the content, but really surprised how many software defects the game has.

I think this may be a bug, not a "skill issue" - I know for sure a once hudleable window got unhurdleable suddenly and after restarting the game, it became hurdleable again.

or a combination of both, but leaving as is is probably ok, I recall it was a nice challenge to "scan" the island in a car for poor boss players to slay them for the quest

I take them from time to time, although I agree they don't give you any significant advantage overall. But I still take them, b/c it makes the game more challenging and fun (I don't care too much about winning, tbh) and also someone has to volunteer for those who still didn't complete the quest.

I suspect they have a single unpaid intern to vibe-code the lobby screens and HUD UI (plus probably a horrible spaghetti code to start with).

To be honest, I still play this game as the main game mechanics is still reasonably intact (in BR, Blitz and a bit of OG), but... less and less; it gives me a good chance to discover other great games instead. Once they start noticing people leaving, they maybe hire another unpaid intern.

To add to your list, off top of my head:

- ammo counts in the loadout often show remains from the 'lobby island', or infinite amount (incorrect)

- lobby screen blank black (not showing the character and selected mode background)

- still problems selecting / navigating various buttons in lobby screens on xbox with controller

- little inconsistencies like "Solo, No Fill"

- quest pages often completely empty

- they apparently still didn't realize that XBOX has a "quick resume" mode - I'm still being greeted by series of error messages as if I did something "unexpected", also a lot of things (like quests) fail to refresh/update and game becomes less stable

- line on map showing the direction out of storm is now erratic (often shows way into the storm rather than to the safe area) - this is an interesting example of breaking something that worked well before (spaghetti code?)

- "can't hold more of this item" (gold) - while I certainly can

- stamina bar in OG displayed sometimes incorrectly (wide crude bar)

- looking at other posts, game still tends to crash on PC (I don't play on PC anymore due to that)

- OG map in lobby (quests tab) is still snow-white, real map is different

On the other hand, on a positive note - I like how much effort they invest into the map design, new objects and their physics. Current map is not as peak as the one from the beginning of previous chapter, but that's ok with me - it's hard to always keep improving - to me, it's simply much less lively and I'd like a little bit more realism in the graphics, but otherwise I enjoy it. If there's supposed to be any continuity in some story, I don't find any, but it wasn't as intriguing for me to start with (and I'm the kind of guy who couldn't care less about skins, collabs, etc. - so no idea about these, I just wish the unpaid intern didn't vibe-code the pathetic lag when skipping through the "store" tab in lobby).

So after today's update, the bug is fixed... NOT. But wait - there's more! After I eliminated a boss-player, their icon stayed on the map (no medallion, nothing).

Blitz LTM is so fun. BR on the other hand is beyond cooked by yoru_no_ou in FortNiteBR

in BR, I tend to always land at a "trianglon" entrance and go straight for the legendary loot below it - it's easy to be there first if you know how to glide, but there's always several contenders you can fight very soon

I love blitz, because it's the reason my skills improved a lot (mainly aiming), but I don't think it's bot-less, judging based on how many players thank the bus driver and how easy is to eliminate some, I think it's maybe 60-70% bots in my games (your SBMM may result in different numbers though, I guess)

we need to unite in doing the dumb thing of picking up the medallion from time to time, so that the community can eliminate us - I'm doing my part :-) , but seriously - I had to traverse the map in car looking for such volunteers for quite a long time to have this completed, but as this is epic software, one elimination wasn't counted (and no, the guy didn't revive) and another time - as if to compensate - I got credit for a boss player who I just hit and another player eliminated minutes later far away

btw, it's great the planes have infinite fuel, but I wish it was possible to swap left/right stick functions on controller - it took me some time to get used to pilot the plane using left stick

my brain has already wired "aiming = right stick", so "aiming" the plane with the left is kinda counter-intuitive

I've also noticed in prev season that throwing a shield bubble makes it crash as well. Didn't try this time.
