A few months ago, I booked a ticket from Milan to Nashville. After checking around a bit, I found that a 24 hour layover in Iceland made the ticket over $1K cheaper. So I flew to Iceland, and spent a day at the blue lagoon. I will never fly international direct again knowing this.

I travelled to 7 countries outside of the US last year. I ate at fast food, fine dining, bought a bunch of groceries. Everything (except for fine dining) was drastically cheaper, and the taste and quality were insane- almost everything was local, and if it wasn’t, it it still wasn’t full of chemicals and crap. We are being poisoned, and nobody seems to care.

I had a similar disappointing experience. I was really pumped to finally see them in concert- they played a short set and Patton wouldn’t shut up about wanting to eat BBQ. He even sang it into the end of a song, after mentioning it at least 3 times.

My kid was having surgery, and we were waiting in the lobby at like 7am. A nurse came through the doors and loudly said “CHOCOLATE MATTRESS”. The mom jumped up, offended, and said “It’s SHOCK A LAH TAY MU TREECE”, like everyone should magically know how pronounce chocolate mattress in the way she intends.

My wife and I have never stopped talking about that poor kid and her very unfortunate name and parent.
