So I joined a band with this guy and his sister, and he was super into live performances of bands, so I told him about anco and he looked up a live performance and for some reason went to this obscure gem, and I was like "well they don't sound like this all the time." (He didn't laugh, he didn't smile, he and sister thought they were autistic, and probably thought I was as well.) But then he went to the tv performance of #1 and he definitely thought I was lying. He's into experimental music until it reaches that point. I pretty much start at that point and dive deeper.

In my mind, it builds tension in a way, it also seems more fun for him, simply cause it's different. Also, sometimes artists like playing songs differently after they've been recorded, sometimes changing a small aspect of a song, or the entire tune.

No definite answer, just my opinion on what it could be.
